I received my 6a from Metro and can confirm that it won't work with TMobile sim out of the box. I've tested with my T-Mobile sim card and couldn't get services.

I would eat the additional net $10 to avoid all that crap and get a new number. No AF, $20 cheaper plan. Authorized dealers are 90% scammers.

So I have both A54 and S21FE. I just played with both more today and must say, if not considering battery, s21FE is just better in almost every aspect. Thinner bazels, more responsive fingerprint sensor, better/juicer colors and viewing angles, better camera, mega super-duper stereo speakers (A54 also has good ones but s21 has better ones). I had Pixel7 and honestly, I hated the screen. Had terrible headaches just from staring at P7, so I assume with P6a it would be the same (if not worse). Therefore, if you have extra $50 and want some decent camera and overall smooth experience go with s21fe, but if battery really meters go with a54. However, if you just want the cheapest option and like making photos, go with P6a. Just my 2 cents

This Metro Pixel 6a comes with NO bloatware, pure Android, not even with Metro or T-Mobile splash logo at opening screen, no sign of anywhere it's a carrier locked phone, but under "settings -> about phone" there is only one IMEI showing. Don't know if the other IMEI will show up after 6a gets unlocked.
You can go to network settings and try to add/download an e-sim profile (you don't need to finish the process), and the second IMEI will show up.

Did anyone get their phone not factory sealed? Mine came sealed with stickers from the carrier (maybe it was opened?) and not factory sealed. Anyone else have this issue?

That's interesting. My 6a that I bought from Qlink (shipped by Amazon) shows two IMEIs and eSIM support. If you dial *#06# on your Metro 6a does it show only one IMEI?

My Metro Samsung A54 shows two IMEIs, one for the physical SIM and one for the eSIM. I didn't try using the eSIM with a non-Metro provider because I figure it would be locked to Metro like the physical SIM.

Two IMEIs are printed on 6a box, *#06# shows one.
I am not worried though. Pixel phones are known to have some features hidden. I used to have Sprint Pixel 3a that had one IMEI printed on box, but after dialing some hidden special number which enabled dual sim dual standby, then the 2nd IMEI popped up under settings.

Thanks. Just tried to add a new SIM, click "download sim", it said updating, then went back to settings/about phone, IMEI (sim slot 1) and IMEI (sim slot 2) were there already. Nice to play around and find something new Smilie
Again dial *#06#, IMEI2 and EID are there too.

Need to note that Metro is in the process of closing all of its corporate stores so you will likely have to go to an "authorized dealer" which charges more than the "corporate" stores. All authorized dealers I went to were charging $35 for activation + $10 for sim card + $80 in taxes and fees. With all the extra costs, you're better off getting a new line directly from the website.
Not true. They did close some , but not all. They were merged with T-Mobile corporate stores.

The phones are locked to Metro only (including their respective eSIM if applicable) for a full 180 days from activation on Metro. T-Mobile native will not work and neither will anything else. Period

Yup. No matter how much whining and misinformation is uttered by some people here.

This is what I'm wondering. I currently have an unlocked moto stylus 2021 working with a NET10 (Verizon mvno) sim card. I moved that sim from another moto phone and had to call customer service to get full functionality but they did something that fixed it right away.
Is it possible they can/would do something like this for whitelisted unlocked phones if you are an existing customer with an active sim?

I guess I have to wait 6 mo to find out . Can't understand why they would want to lose you to another provider because you got a good deal on a phone!
The Moto should support the Verizon frequency. That said, it's up to the carrier to play nice with your unlocked phone. You can always email the FCC for assistance. Use the FCC's reply email to update your case.

If enough people escalate this problem to the FCC, it will issue new rules about unlocked phone compatibility.
