"shame you can't get a spare battery."

2. Cheap plastic construction: There were 6 mentions of the product seeming poorly made from plastic, for example:
"cheap plastic driven gear sheared off teeth to be the final death blow to this cheap device."
"it's a piece of junk made from cheap plastic with poor manufacturing quality."
"we are on our third one bought one 7/27/2019 plastic gears broke, not knowing had a year warranty my husband bought one 6/5/2020 that also broke the plastic gears."

"made of plastic."

I actually bought this fairly recently. I've only used it twice, but it isn't bad for the price. I bought this to avoid grass flying into my neighbors' flower beds when trimming near my fence. The blade will jam if you get a thick weed or stick caught in it. It's very cheap construction but it works for my needs.

I have a tiny lawn, and using a mower on patchy tall grass is sometimes an overkill. This seems like suitable for my needs.

Why not use a string trimmer instead

Darn, I have a snow thrower, leaf blower, and a power cleaner that all use the Sun Joe battery... and I was thinking, "Good, another" but this uses an integrated battery.

just use a smaller scissor if u plan to trim ur bush. in fact no one really care if it becomes too bushy. its just on ur own mind that people would care if its perfectly trim

Plastic gear stripped so they sent me another but the same thing happened to the replacement and they said there was nothing they could do because it was a replacement. The original warranty was still in effect. That's just poor customer service.

They need to make the gear out of something stronger than the plastic they are using or at the very least sell the gear as a part so the trimmer can be fixed.
