If you're to buy a gaming laptop over 3070 Ti, RTX 4080 is the way to go. Initially the price was pretty high but slowly they are coming down and here multiple deals have been posted for Legion Pro 7 series with fully speced configuration around 2.1K.
Since this is electronic, it's only a 90 day return so there's no benefit there.

Costco has one for $1299.99 right now. On sale through 5/14.

The nitro is better deal. Costco one is the last gen CPU, lower res 1080P screen, and less ports for $100 less. The only thing I see better is 1tb vs 512gb drive.

Well, Costco gives double manufacturer warranty and free tech support during that time, plus like you said 90 day returns is a lot longer than anywhere I know of. The CPU difference won't be a factor at all (for gaming) with a 4070 laptop. Screen is definitely better on this Nitro no doubt about that. I would personally take the Nitro just for the screen, but 144hz 1080 is far from trash level. 512gb SSD is far from ideal but whatever. Honestly at current prices of SSDs it is kinda crappy of them to not include a 1 tb.
But my comment was more about the price point data as it is the cheapest I have seen.

Can I please ask your opinion on the 4070 mobile GPUs in general? Do you think it is a worthwhile upgrade to a 3070 or 3070ti laptop, or would you skip to a 4080 or even skip this gen? I have seen mixed reviews on 4070s and heard of problems where they seem to be permanently undervolted, never using the 140w max even under load.
