Just saw them in store for $40 (Milford, CT) and I remember it being sold at Costco for $40 for a long time. Am I missing something like it is a different model?

I clean the basket/bin gently with a sponge and put the grate in the dishwasher. Not too bad.
I use a reusable silicone mat liner, easy to take out wash by hand or dishwasher.

Also keeps food from having direct contact with Teflon basket. Check out the cancer warnings on the bottom of each of these Teflon based air fryers.

I have one of these from last year and while I like it very much, anytime I cook anything fatty ie. chicken thighs or bacon, the amount of smoke is insane. It fills up my entire house and I have to open all the windows. I've had other brands and that has never been a problem. Unsure if others have filters in them or just designed differently. After about a year the entire bottom plate started to rust and the non stick coating flaked off. I just bought another brand to replace it as while it still works, just purchasing another insert was $25 and I bouth another whole unit of another brand for $40. Just my $.02

got this for $50 in-store last month.

Great little gadget.

Just be aware there is a plastic smell coming from the unit the first few times you use it, likely from the silicone rubber feet from the basket. Even says so right in the manual/quick start guide.

Went away after 3rd or 4th time using it. I just let it run outside for the first few times so it wouldn't stick up the house.

Other than that for $50 solid.

Cancer warning with a caveat.

Quick google search says Teflon max cooking temp should be 500F--the unit doesn't go past 400F. PFOA's have been banned since 2014 for use in non-stick cookware.

That being said, I would be open to using a silicon basket, but I'm looking for one with vents/holes to help with the circulation.

Had it for about a year now. Washed the plastic pieces before use and ran it a couple times in the garage to break it in and minimize any plasticky smell. Haven't noticed any issue with that.

Any time we use it, we put the food on top of foil rather than in contact with the basket. It makes for a much easier cleanup. No noticeable deterioration of the coating after a year.

It's a good deal.

But the touch screen has issues registering my finger presses.

If you are willing to be patient with your air fryer every time you use it, then this deal is right for you.

Obviously, since this is from Costco, you could always return it if you don't like it.

But then you lose on the air circulation through the food and from the bottom of the fryer.. does it cook the food well?

Does just fine for things like fries or nuggets. It does prompt (audible beep as well as on the display) you to turn the food over during the cook process. If you want more circulation, it comes with an elevated grate. In that case, you could put the food directly on the grate, and it would sit on top of foil placed at the bottom of the basket.

Should make the inside with titanium and ceramic
Then the air fryer will cost $400 not $40. Ha ha
