I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

I am in CA and they charged me $885.99 for the phone and the first month of service + activation + tax. I bought a pixel 3xl on ebay for $40.
With $600 discount, it still runs me about $300 for the S23!. :-)

First get the internet and free one year phone service. Did the trade in in store. Only paid the difference ($250 include tax) . But tax is on full price. Phone unlocked too.
How is your phone unlocked? Mine is locked and I paid for it yesterday. Is it because I've only been with them for 30 days?

For the BOGO free line promo, does anyone know if I have to keep both lines for a minimum of 12 months? Or can I port out one or both line, let's say after 2 month if I don't like their service.
TIA

I haven't bought a phone since the s9+. This deal was so good I couldn't pass it up. Went in to my store with a rooted Note 4 and got $635 for the S23 Ultra. Also my walkout price was cheaper than what they offered online. This is an insane deal. Jump on it. The S23 is by far the best phone I've ever owned.

Do you know if a trade-in phone needs to be activated?
Got a cheap Tracfone A03 at Best Buy without a plan. As I understand it, its activation requires at least 1 month plan purchase.

According to the terms, it's not necessary to keep either line. But if you cancel the paid line in a BOGO pair, they'll start to charge you the normal rate for the formerly free line.

I don't think anyone knows for sure yet. Although the terms don't seem to forbid canceling immediately or within the first month, maybe they'd blacklist you from future promos.
In any case, you'd want to request unlock before canceling, though the phone might unlock automatically (e.g. after 60 days) even if you cancel before then.
