bought this last week at microcenter after returning a comparible MSI model. After upgrading the RAM and SSD it is a good budget PC that can run some games. FYI, it only has one m.2 slot and can support up to 32GB RAM.

Thanks for the helpful comment. Any idea where I can find a time machine to buy goods during the pandemic when everything was cheap?

That's one heck of a way to get build quality info about a laptop.

Can confirm - also bought one from microcenter a couple weeks back (open box was like $425) and threw an additional 8gb stick of ram in there. Seems pretty solid for the budget.

If you wanna see how bad the screen wobble is on this laptop just watch The Night Agent on Netflix. The techie/hacker girl uses one and I lose it every time she touches the thing and it wobbles to all hell. Episode 4 in the cafe

It's interesting... when I look at the item through browsing BB, I show open-box options in the $450 range, but I can't find them since according to BestBuy "this is a hot item, and I need to login to add it to cart". I guess that blocks me from seeing More Buying Options.

I already have 32GB of DDR4 ram on my old system, which I can move over to this one. I just can't decide if I should hold out for a system in this price range with a better video card.

I have noticed a trend in laptops. And this is my suggestion -
always look at the screen quality and then the rest.
9/10 the screen is terrible if the price seems too good.

I paid $450 two years ago for better laptop with similar specs. This is not slick at all. It should be 300-350.

I would recommend paying a little more for a better gpu, this will be useless in a year or two. I guess you can buy an expensive gpu enclosure with a better card then. 1650 with 4gb of ram at 144hz I wonder if many newer games can get close to that.
Useless to who? Your acting like EVERYONE needs specs to game on.

agreed... I bought this to use as a workstation with some light video editing and design, and so far it seems great.

This just isn't enough GPU power to justify the other compromises in this system. An Intel XE or AMD integrated laptop at a similar price will have a better form factor, battery, display, and more without sacrificing too much. You can't AAA game at high settings on this thing, but if you're happy with it then keep on being happy.
