Don't buy it. Wait for it to go lower! If no one buys, they will lower the price even more to make more sales.

We're only saving $12 from this "sale" according to its regular price. $80-90 would be a better deal.

Yeah but, 1 year ago it was $200 with a few short drops to $150 here and there. Although it may only be a recent sale of $12 off, it has dropped nearly $100 in a matter of months.

Will it go lower? Maybe, but many manufacturers are already reducing their production to drive the prices back up. There's no guarantee that prices will continue to drop. That said there is also no guarantee that prices will increase either.

This is a historically good price for this drive.

Good stuff. I regret buying so many 1tb when it was at $108 a few years ago because even then I thought that was cool.

You 100% sure they're the same drive? The SK hynix Gold P31's are TLC and this says it's QLC. I thought SK hynix had their own manufacturing as well.

I see that the two companies have collaborated in the past to bring SK hynix's tech to Solidigm's products, but these still look pretty different on paper
SK Hynix owns Solidigm (old intel drive division they sold to SK Hynix) You are right...very different drives.

I bought 1Tb last year for $131 and I thought it was a steal. What happened to ssd? Why are the prices dropping so much?

I would like to replace the M.2 SATA SSD in a laptop with this M.2 NVME SSD (or another gen 3). And I would like to do this by cloning the existing drive instead of doing a clean install. But I'm reading that there's a lot of difficulties with trying to clone a SATA drive to a NVME one. I guess it's in part due to driver issues.

Does anyone have tips or suggestions for how to do such cloning? I want to do this for an HP laptop for this classic Costco deal (https://slickdeals.net/f/13524451-costco-members-hp-14-laptop-i3-1005g1-4gb-ddr4-128gb-ssd-win-10-s-280-free-shipping?v=1), which came with a 128GB M.2 SATA drive.

Well, the cat is out of the bag so to speak. word on the street is that they are over charging and so people are not purchasing. Thus, causing excessive stock. then prices have to be cut to purge that excessive stock.

Samsung comes with its own days migration utility. Not sure about this one Try the Macrium Relfect free version or use CloneZilla

I've successfully cloned SATA drives to SATA drives before. I think I even used Macrium Reflect before. But are there special steps needed to clone from a SATA to a NVME?

no difference I think as long as it can recognize the drive. type shouldn't matter.

if you look at their store page, they actually changed the regular price of their drives

the 4.0 drives even got reduced to 156 as their regular price now for the 2 TB variants

it can get a bit wonky sometimes with ssd if they are different sizes but for the most part you can just clone them from my understanding

Could have saved some money on some spares I bought before. Reports are a big over supply on SSD and RAM as people are broke in the greatest economy ever. Will get worse very soon.

Hello everyone, I've read lots of good things about this drive on here and other forums. The price seems to come down bit by bit, which is awesome. I've seen a lot of other drives pull a switcheroo on components, causing the drives to not be as good. Is that something I should worry about with this one? Is this drive consistent in performance now vs last year? Nothing much changed? Thanks.

Has anyone been able to get the Samsung software to recognize is own drives when connected via USB?

My external EVO 870 reads as generic so can't utilize all the perks
