If you have the Nintendo Switch, this is the fastest card and highest storage it can handle.

I found this on reddit;

"It'll affect your install times if you're on fast Internet. With an A2 card, the CPU becomes the bottleneck if your 'net is fast enough (decompressing, whatever) during downloads. With a slower A1 card that will be the bottleneck. In my experience, downloading a 60gig game to an A2 card for me (gigabit fibre, real speed of 55-65MB/s) takes about 12-15 minutes. The same game onto an A1 card can take more than an hour.

Gaming you won't see a difference. And if you're on slower net, it won't matter either."

but take that "with a grain of salt" i guess.

I could buy this and shove it in a new phone but nooo. None of the main flagship phones have expandable memory and expect you to shell out $300+ more to get the phone with 1TB. If it's even an option.

Don't buy ultra, get Sandisk Extreme because Ultra is extremely slow.

If I were using it in a raspberry pi 4. is the microSD card faster than say a 1tb nvme external usb, and what is the power consumption differences?

I came for the same answer. Maybe it's been covered in other deals but i'm here all the time and 1tb steam sd is the main reason i use slickdeals, so i figure i would have seen it.

I have one of these since day one on my deck and I had no issues. It loads stuff well enough that I don't notice if the game is on the ssd or this card.

A1 has slower write speeds. Would not recommend for Steam Deck or ROG Ally as downloads would be pretty slow.

I've been using one of these in my Steam Deck since I got it. It's been fine. I don't use my Deck to play big triple A titles that are huge so I don't necessarily notice the big installs taking longer. I've queued up a bunch of stuff to put on there, and it gets done eventually. All the games are on the SD card itself, and I've never had issues with loading times or anything like that.

I am waiting for the 1TB microSD card to drop down to $70 before I bite. I will wait until Black Friday. In the meanwhile I will still be using my 512GB in my Nintendo Switch which I bought 2 years ago.

Thanks for the info. I guess I can wait for a deal on the A2. I'm currently using a 256gb Samsung Evo micro sd and I'm wanting to make the jump to a 1tb micro sd. GTA V took over half my memory and had to delete some other games.
