Would this drive be good for a boot drive? I have the 2Tb WD SN850x black I can swap over if that one would be better. Currently using a 512Gig Samsung 870 Pro, which is running out of space.

Yes, it'll definitely handle being a boot drive, assuming that TBW is accurate.

I believe your 870 has a TBW of around half that.

I'm not sure if everyone still does it, but you can also extend its life with a few basic tweaks like changing where Windows' updates are downloaded to another drive and moving the pagefile as well.

The insignia heatsink is actually well built and works pretty well.

If TBW really matters to you Amazon has the GIGABYTE AORUS NVMe Gen4 M.2 2TB drive on sale for 119.00 with free shipping. It's slower than the Corsair at 4400 write speeds but it's TBW of 3600 TB is insane. Built in heat spreader too. It says delivery by end of may but mine shipped and arrived within a few days.

Great timing. Engadget just ranked this #1 for PS5. Finally gonna get rid of storage anxiety.

no its same Phison E18 drive Nextorage is owned by Phison which rebrands these drives to other manufacturers.

Alrighty wasn't sure if it was worth going with the better name brand in Corsair. Also noticed the slight different in r/w speeds not sure how much of that is marketing. Seems like the nextorage deal is still up as well at the same price, probably worth going with that over this then?

I believe they can't advertise same read/writes so have change up the numbers. They all use similar phison firmware though.
