I will pray for you, OP. If there's one thing slickdeals has taught me, it's that posting a VA panel, or a sound system under $1000, or any TV whatsoever is like smacking a hornet's nest.

Seems reviews are not great for it
You mean the whole 3, lol?
Two are 5 stars saying how great it is, 1 is 1 star cause he received a defective one.
Amazon reviews 15 reviews 4.5 stars average.
Overall its a good price, and if I needed one right now I would probably get it, still kicking myself about the monoprice 32" curved for $150 I waited too long on.

It's a budget gaming monitor. Not everyone is going for top of the line. Good for those HS/College students who want to ball on a budget.
I am an adult who wants to ball on a budget… haven't built a pc in 20+ years but recently bought that prebuilt posted a few days ago (rtx 3060 and intel 12400). Mainly want to play Diablo 4, probably 1080p but 1440p would be nice. Is this a good monitor or should I wait? Is ips really that important??

Yup this should work. You should be able to run Diablo at 1440p max settings

I have a dual monitor setup with an IPS and a VA panel. The VA panel is okay but I'm looking at replacing it with an IPS. If you only have a VA panel and it's your only monitor, it should be fine to use.

IPS is mainly better for motion clarity and color accuracy. VA has much better contrast and black levels. I usually recommend an IPS for competitive first-person shooters and photo/video editing. VA can be better in some ways for slower paced single-player games. The smearing bothers some people, but if you've ever played video games on a TV (most are VA) and it didn't bother you, you'll probably be fine.
How is this one compare to the HP X32 2560x1440 QHD 165Hz 1ms IPS FreeSync Gaming Monitor that was $200 last September? Need one to stream movies primarily.

Reviews saying it might even not work properly... it is not about cost, about function.

I have learned this lesson the hard way.

What is VA?
