Got this for a few dollars more a few weeks ago. Good for small transfers on external. Data dumping, don't bother with it.

I'm pretty sure you have a better chance at winning at Vegas Slots than you do at actually getting your rebate from Newegg.

MSI rebates have a reputation for taking 6+ months, plus this uses a lower tier controller. If it were a straight up price, I'd consider it, but with the rebate, I'd go with a SN570 over this -- better controller, higher TBW (480 vs 600), and brand reputation.

The rebate is fulfilled by MSI here. This is anecdotal, but I had a rebate fulfilled by them just about a month ago for a motherboard and it took them about one month.

How come suddenly ssds are on sale like fire? Not sure what to expect next. Does anyone know a good 2tb ssd stick with a reasonable price? prefer buying from amazon
There's a huge surplus of NAND flash memory for SSD's right now. All the manufactures ramped up production tremendously during the pandemic, and now no one is buying tech products. Prices on pretty much everything PC related, except for GPU's are falling.

It's been a minute since Gen 5 came out, these have all been Gen 3s.

I'm waiting for a deal on Gen 4.
MSI M461 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 4.0 - This model after rebate $45 before tax. Does it good price or will go down?

Haven't had a single problem with rebates from them and I've been using them for ages

Amazon has a Silicon Power Gen3 2TB for $68. I've had great luck with SP SSDs over the years. Similar spec PNY is $75, and Crucial is $88. If you're willing to hold out for a month or 2, I'm sure we will see some better prices from Amazon. It's great to see that there are a lot of 2TB offerings from major brands for less than $100 these days. Kingston Gen4 2TB is $85 as well. All above prices are Amazon.

Grabbed one about 45-50 days ago at same price. Have been using it in the refurbished dell optiplex, 24x7, for nextcloud and immich, no issues so far temp is constantly around 50 degree °C ( due to not so great circulation in the optiplex MFF). Applied for rebate 4/17 still in process. From my experience with the 6650XT OC rebate, the processing time is around 2 months . MSI has paperless rebate option on their website, no need to cut and mail.
I am backing up my data to another HDD, just in-case this thing fails.

After my last rebate with newegg, I never shopped there again. I was a much poorer one back then, and kept track of all my rebates for my budget build of the time. 3 out of 4 rebates did not come for 6 months and I contacted newegg. They created tickets etc and 2 of them showed up within 2-4 months. Tried again for the 4th one and they kept stalling it. I gave up on rebates and newegg. A nice deal on newegg? Rebate? Downvote. They have my hate forever.

Mine was Newegg not delivering a Nintendo Switch controller and expecting me to file a claim with the carrier instead of replacing it and doing that themselves. Oh, and when I filed a charge back on my credit card, they deleted my account that I had since 1997. Guess they didn't care I had 10's of thousands of dollars of purchases spanning 2 decades on there at the time. Hate for Newegg.com is well deserved as far as I'm concerned.
