This is a brand new Kaabo scooter model. It frankly looks fantastic and I'm considering selling my Mantis 8 which I love and is also on sale for $800 to upgrade to this scooter.
Has all the great features of Mantis 8 with big upgrades:
10 inch pneumatic tire
NFC lock
53 lbs
Larger battery
They kept the same stem design though which I don't love
Lots of great scooter deals out there this year. Just need to decide which one best suits you.

Also it is listed as 62 lbs.
To get to a dual motor level from Segway you have to move up to the on sale $3,300 GT 2 [segway.com].
The GT2 is obviously an all around better scooter than the Mantis 10, but in order to get a dual motor you have to get to that level scooter at Segway.
I personally think dual motors are crucial for anyone that plans to use their scooters to go up steep inclines. I was about to write I wouldn't consider a scooter without one, but in truth, even the ones with dual motors are still super fun so I would probably get one without it too, but I do highly prefer dual motors.

One last thing...... jumping off a 3 story building is a 30 mph impact, both have the same force, think about that one when the scooter speedometer says 30 mph.
I also share the sentiment about dual motors. I live in SF and we have as many steep hills as we do homeless.
As a father, I will say please purchase all the safety equipment for your kid. I have 4 kids, the two teenage boys die to ride my scooter but I simply do not let them. These scooters are soo powerful, one gnarly 30-40mph accident and I might be visiting them in a coma. I am more worried about them wiping out on the scooter than them getting hit by a car.
Stay safe my friends
