i still will never forgive cowboy for using discarded plank lumber in their lump charcoal years ago. and 5lbs of unusable explosive dust in the bottom of each bag. along with rocks and some plastic sheeting pieces. the smoke made any meat taste awful. i bought a pallet when it went on sale at a price too cheap to give up. can't believe people convinced me to buy it. contacted cowboy but they refused to refund or make it right.

"These are made of 100% natural substances, of which 95% is hardwood and 5% is vegetable matter for binding. So no chemicals in there or filler to interfere with the tasty smoke you're after."

Taken from a list I found on Google. Little more,

"Duraflame Cowboy All Natural Hardwood Briquets offer an appealing bridge between basic and premium charcoal options. If you're a casual griller looking to take it up a notch or you're searching for a new go-to that's not a bank-breaker, this could be the charcoal you ride off into the sunset with."

Thanks OP. Will experiment some smoking with this brand. I'll save my b&b for my longer smokes

This is a decent charcoal. Better than kbb.

It's also the everyday price.

I would save my money and buy something else. I purchased 4 bags of this and the coals seem to smolder. They might be great for anyone looking use on a smoker but if you are looking to grill where you need much hotter temps then this will not fit your needs. Others have written similar on the Wally World site

After trying Jealous Devil and Kamado Joes charcoal I can't think of buying Cowboy charcoal anymore. Quality of the charcoal is night and day.

I've been using this since I bought it a few weeks ago for $18
seems to burn hotter than KBB, so far I'm happy with it, maybe lasts a tad less than kingsford, but the better temps make up for it.

So far no complaints with it.

Yeah I think buying good charcoal is really worth it. I've found chunks of concrete in my bags of cowboy (I suspect the add some in every bag to make weight and increase profits)

If you're grilling hot dogs at your annoying nieces b day at the park at those nasty grill stands go ahead and buy whatever's cheapest. If you want good results at home get premium

Chunks of concrete is cowboys speciality. I think they add it to every bag to make weight
