I know it advertises cold brew in as little as 25-45 minutes, but when I used to make mine I steeped at least 24 hours and as long as 48 hours.

A Hario Mizudashi makes a good cold brew, and is easy to clean.

I leave it for 36 hours
It's fine for like a week, cold brew for days
In my own experience, I've found that anything over ~20 hours starts to taste like stale cardboard -- if cardboard could get stale. 16-18 hours has been my sweet spot for getting a real nice flavor with a very healthy caffeine kick.
*brewing mostly medium or dark roasts, with a fresh coarse grind right before steeping and a 4.5 to 1 water to grounds ratio
