Best Buy TV better deal than what I bought in 2012

I bought a 47-inch LCD HD TV for $1300 in 2012, now I see Best Buy is selling the 87" UHD version for $100 cheaper.
Any suggestions - like buying the 87" UHD and then returning the 47" in the 87" box, or has anyone already tried this and not gotten arrested? I may just get it and keep the 47" in the bathroom or something. What do you guys think, uh?

Did you keep the box the 47" came in? Just cut the upc code off the new box & paste in over the one on the old box just in case they got a ruler or something to measure the tv with.

maybe try putting the 87" into the 47" box and take it back to Costco they'll be able to help you.

I had some feelings I would need the 47-inches box and kept it. Unfortunately, I made the mistake to put the box under the porch, and just this past March, I found that wild rabbits crapped all over it. So, no go with the box...

That's crazy leaving it out in the elements like that! There's no abandoned school bus in your trailer park to store stuff like that? Sound like a real shithole, you need to move to something more upscale like those down on airline hwy, My brother in law just bought a used FEMA trailer for $150 & parked it next to his old one. Now he has one of those double wides like all those snooty rich folks!
