Good, but it's a fairly common deal
You also need to factor in that Milwaukee hasn't updated these tools since 2022. And since 2022 is just the release date, the underlying technology is effectively from 2019-2020. As a result, they're naturally heavier and bulkier compared to modern compact DeWalt models

I just don't get the whole "hack" thing. It's not a "hack", it's just plain being dishonest. Saving money is great, but if you are purchasing things with the intention of returning part of it for a refund, it's speaks volumes about your character.... I know this is an unpopular opinion, but it is what it is.
A few years ago, I shared your sentiment about this type of HD deal. But I think that these deals are still offer even though a lot of half of this type of deal have been return for many years means that they are expecting the return. As you must be aware that there is a national return clearing house database. I would have been barred from buying from many stores because of these "hack" by now. I have 15+ Ryobi batteries and can't really use more of them. Unless you are saying that dishonesty doesn't count against you in the eye of HD then your label may be accurate.

HD knows about this. They could have easily made it to where people couldn't do it many, many years ago. Dont look at it as they are the victim, they are still profiting hand over fist.

I've seen several posts on the Reddit sub about people having their accounts closed and being barred from returning items due to too many returns. It seems like most of these people were taking advantage of these "hacks". So, I can only assume that hd doesn't condone it. Idk.

Thanks, I knew abt this one, but $108 is still expensive for just 1 tool. No combo kits with Surge version I assume

No hackable combo kits with the M12 Surge driver that I am aware of.

hmm....I did the hack about 15 times in the past 3-4 years. They must have done a lot more than 3 to 5 times a year. I guess I 3 to 5 times a year is not too bad.

…barred from returning items due to too many returns…
they probably still use The Retail Equation, and TRE is telling them to do so (or more likely, has the access to their systems to do so). That would be based on amount of returns, or more ideally, customer profitability.

Since we aren't going by how long THD has allowed this "hack" to be exercised as a testament to how intentional it is on their part, I'd say a better gauge of whether or not they "like" it would be if they were canceling accounts that were doing the immediate online cancellation method. I would assume this wouldn't get flagged as a return so TRE wouldn't be involved and it wouldn't be a "too much returns" issue, and be left to whether or not THD themselves takes umbrage with it and wants to go after those customers. That is, if the immediate item cancellation method is even an option these days.

Not sure about this. I owned the dewalt 12v impact and tried out the 12v drill. I find these to produce more power and similar in size if not smaller to dewalts.
