Picked up this kit via this hack a week or so ago. The tools are fantastic.

Is it still $199 with the free battery? I'm not seeing everything for $142

Yes, you need to select the battery as free gift first, then in check out you can see the combo price is ~$142 and battery to be ~$57. You can search around to see how to use the home depot hack to return the battery and get refund for the ~$57. Note: you have to pay for the full price first then get a refund later.

I feel I jipped myself by getting the Ryobi combo where for $40 more I could've got this.

I'm going to pick this up. I'm going to keep the battery too, one can never have too many batteries.
Thanks OP.

I kept the batteries and listed the drill and impact driver for $100 each. No one is biting LOL

Just purchased a home and need a drill for normal house stuff. Will these be a good choice?

Confusing on the QA in Home Depot page. Someone said this is Gen 3 and other saying it Gen 4. Can anyone confirm the real gen of this?

They don't make a gen 4 in the M12 line. It's only in the M18 that is gen 4, which released at the same time as these.

So this is a gen 3 set, the newest.

Everything I've heard about these is positive and reviewers are raving about it (although of course I'm sure that some of the YouTubers doing so are paid Milwaukee shills as is the case with all products). I have the Gen 2 version of both and really like them, but these are better. It's probably overkill for most people for the occasional job around the house but if you can afford and justify it you won't be disappointed and you won't need anything else for a long time, other than bits and such.

Realize that the drill is for drilling holes and the driver is for driving screws and bolts. Each can do the other but are meant to do the one.
