Sorry my post was confusing, I meant I wanted to price match op's post about the guitar with the Fishman pickups and HT. Thank you for your instructions.
No worries .. I just wanted to be clear about the process, didn't mean to sound holier than thou.

For the enthusiasts, how would the jackson (with a hard tail ) compare to one of the PRS SE hollow body guitars on sale for a similar price point?

I have both, I would go with the PRS SE deal. PRS is a much more well rounded instrument although the Jackson can take you from enthusiast to performer. If you are a beginner the PRS would fit better. Why don't you go to GC or SamAsh and try them out ?

how does it compare to SD pickups? i assume these are active and brighter sounding?
Satchel from Steel Panther has been using fishman fluence pickups for a few years now, and his tone is incredible.

What an ugly POS. The slab of wood that the body is made out of, with that ugly flat-sawn grain looks like something you'd get at the Home Depot to use as a floor joist.

Dang, didn't realize the sale was going on for so long! This will sound really dumb but the more I meditate on significant equipment purchases, the less decisive I feel… been thinking of springing for a "good" guitar for years now, just wanted to wait for an equally good deal. Maybe i will go today… (My main instrument is a j Mascis squier, which i love)

Was so tempted with the ht7 to replace a js22-7 but can't justify it since the js22-7 is actually not bad

The price is a no brainer for a san dimas, the company though has some hit or miss seller reviews, still worth trying if you want a great deal and hope it just arrives as advertised no issues.
