after visiting a URL with "promo_code=..." the promo code will be applied and can be seen when viewing your cart. you can even change, but not stack, promo codes by visiting a url with a different "promo_code=..." (eg start with "SAFEOPT15" and change to "FOS20SAVE"), ie last promo code used is applied.
i'm considering purchasing another 245 (for family/friends) because $80 is such a slick deal (though i have no remorse buying mine a week ago, and receiving yesterday, with only 10% promo code described earlier in this thread).
As a moderate/daily runner who logs around 2,000-2,400 miles per year, I couldn't be happier with my even older model 235. It's lightweight, has accurate gps, and plenty of battery life to get you through the marathon distance (or more). Without using the GPS, the battery lasts several days (and it fully charges from 0-100% in less than 2 hours. This is the more upgraded 245 so I can only assume, it's a little better than my 235. Sure, this doesn't have some of the fancier features like route mapping, live Strava segments, or built in music, but if I was in the market for a new running watch, I'd be all over this deal.

Would this watch be able to show turn by turn directions from my phone. I would rather looking at my watch when walking rather than taking out my phone every few seconds

Alot of the forerunner 245 were having problems with pixeling after taking a hit or just started almost nearly a year after use. This has been my watch daily for the past 4 years. I've had to send it into Garmin for a replacement once out of warranty and got a great discount on switching it out otherwise I'd be rocking a new sports watch. I use this watch for everything, HIIT, swimming, jogging. It is pretty accurate on tracking your distances and other metrics.
I personally wouldn't buy this watch and would save for something better by Garmin but if this is in your budget it is not a bad watch at all.
I would highly recommend replacing the bands with something better as the within your first few months the watch band loop is going to be complete trash and there's a chance this badboy will slide right off your wrist with some fast movements.
Is this any good for cycling? Use an Apple Watch but no ANT+/BLE and want something better to sync with Garmin Edge 830
I have the forerunner 245 and if your intention is to use the 245 as a way to broadcast your heart rate to your Edge 840, then yes it works. You can also load courses onto the 245 with connect iq/ridewithgps. I don't rely on the 245 as my course guidance but have it as a back up option.
You can also use the 245 to broadcast heart rate with zwift and a wahoo kickr for indoor training, you just have to use the virtual run workout. In this setup I occasionally drop a connection.
I use the forerunner 245 instead of a chest strap. It's just more convenient for me.
I'm guessing this can be used with a Garmin cycling computer as the heart rate sensor? I just want to be able to press start on my computer and not have to do anything additional on watch. Possible?
I have a strap but it's an additional step before I ride so I stopped bothering putting it on.

for non-developers, that means append "&promo_code=..." to the url if there's already a question mark in the url, or "?promo_code=..." if not.
eg to get a $20 discount (ie 245 for $80) visit the url https://factoryoutletst

I believe 2019
It's refurbished by Garmin so it will actually be quality with a year warranty.
Just won't be getting any feature updates and not even really bug fixes.
It's the same generation I think as Fenix 5 series but without barometer or metal case
Same size display as Fenix 5 (ignore watch size, look at display and 240x240)
Great it has hardware buttons which are a must vs touchscreen for serious runners.
