Oh I remember the zmax. Pretty sure I tried once for a Metro deal with it but at that time T-Mobile couldn't hold my Midwest phone number. Huge phone by that times standards if I recall.
To answer your original question, sounds like the only real value of the AT&T plan is the B&M store aspect or perhaps if the rollover could get you an even higher allotment if saved from the previous month? I had several of us on the $300/year AT&T deal, but haven't tried RP yet until I just got the iPhone 13 mini rebate deal.

My fam has been with them for over two years. No probs and great coverage.
PS: I think we had to pay $1 extra a month for visual voicemail on iphones...
edit: Forgot to add that boost refill cards often go on sale too. I'm definitely paying less for 30GB than I was for 8GB with red pocket, just with a couple extra steps.
