We might can expect other cards to drop in price since today is the release of the RX 7600 which starts out at $269 Dollar

Ooh damn. That's a good price. Good solid 1080p for under $200.

This is a good card (3 fans better than 2), and $180 is a great price for a card which can handle most games at 1080 high/ultra. At the same time, given the middling/bad reviews and AMD's willingness to drop the 7600's price prior to launch, it may make sense to wait a bit and see if it drops further.

What is this equivalent to Nvidia? And is this better or worse than the A750 from intel?

Considering buying this, what are the issues? Links if possible.

There is nothing wrong with this card, I was talking about the reviews of the 7600 which was just released. If your budget is below $200, there is nothing better than this 6600.

The 3060 is the closest competition, but it costs substantially more. Don't buy one. The a750 is worse simply because its software and drivers aren't mature enough to support all titles. Some it runs well, some it can't run at all. The Intel cards are kind of an 'if you have to ask you shouldn't get one' kind of thing -- they're really only worth buying to support the idea of Intel graphics cards.

If you want to spend a bit more and have a 1080p monitor, get a 6700. That is the only reasonable upgrade below $300. But again, at this price, the 6600 is the price to performance king.

6700xt is a 350$ ish range. Which is also where the RTX 3060 is which is a no brainer go 6700xt every time. Also the 12GB vram is very helpful.

But this gigabyte 8gb 6600 card for under 200 is hard to beat for a nice entry level gamer card and it's gonna still trade blows with it beat a 3060

I mean if you're on a budget and need a 1080p card then there's no reason not to get this, you can recycle it in a media rig or something later on when upgrading.

Having TLOU bundled with this makes it even a sweeter deal esp knowing you get same free game as gpu's costing 2-4x as much.

I have an older GTX 970 that's been running fine. Looking to pull the trigger and upgrade still. Is this a big improvement?

Thanks!

Yeah definitely a good upgrade from a 970 more than double the vram and a lot faster core. I'm not sure on exact performance uplift, but I would expect around 100% performance uplift, so if you get 35 fps now you should get 70 fps with this. Also full modern driver support on this while the 970 I Dont think is being updated by nvidia.
