As someone who may or may not work for this company I would highly encourage you to avoid anything "reconditioned" aka it's easier and cheaper to sell the returned item without checking it and replacing it if it's actually broken.

Everything factory reconditioned item I've gotten over 5lbs has arrived practically demolished since direct tools likes to choose an oversized box and use 3 pieces of brown paper as packaging.

Shipping can be really vary in length. I've gotten things in about a week and other things didn't shit out for a month or more. It's a bit annoying. I've also noticed that sometimes their "discount" prices are equal too or more then just getting it from a local retailer. So as with most things, it's always smart to double check.
Beyond that, the tools arrive in good condition, sometimes in retail boxes, sometimes in generic boxes. CS is pretty average. Nothing exceptional but nothing to really complain about.

Last 2 items i ordered from this website came with the wrong style of battery. in one it i had a non HP battery in place of a HP battery. in another i had a smaller battery than was requested.

both got ironed out by calling ryobi directly, but make sure you double check what you receive.

looking forward to the thumbs-down. its almost humorous how predictable it is. DTO either has a huge whit knight following or a hell of a lot of shills!
I've never had issues with the condition of reconditioned items like others. One of my orders they sent the wrong battery- picture and description showed one thing, I received another. They did ship out a second one but told me I shouldn't expect what is shown in the pictures.

nonsense. when i talked to ryob, as well as the person at the store, they both said that the photos and the description should be exactly what you get. if you look up the model number of the tool/combo on ryobi website, thats exactly what you should receive.

Non sense. I've ordered atleast 10 items, all arrived perfectly packed.
I will avoid ordering any more large items again. I've experienced the same problem. Maybe you've been lucky or items you ordered weren't that large? I don't know, but I've experienced the same poor packaging and damaged items.

I waited too long for the router I wanted and now it's unavailable. Anyone know if they usually make items available later?

Any thoughts on the 8" pole saw kit with battery? Guessing it comes with a 2ah, but still in need of something like this, and $42.49 seems decent minus all the calls for avoiding the reconditioned ones.

Careful with reconditioned, or just ordering from them in general, they sent me a completely different model than I ordered with less features, as well as having a broken piece, and when I complained and returned it they took over a month to reply with even a confirmation that the proper item was in stock (it was gone from their website) and would be shipping. I had to do a credit card charge-back to prompt them into action after they ignored my polite requests for updates. It finally arrived, and as others have said, it was loosely packaged and in "okay" condition. I suspect one piece might be bent and I'll have to replace a $10 part in the end. Perhaps worth saving yourself a headache and just spend the money on a HD sale instead, even if it's more than direct tools.

Another reminder, there's people that buy from here and just to flip them for their tool selling businesses such as Offerup, Facebook, ETC...
So it would be natural to be told to stay away from things as it helps getting tools cheaper. For example a tool normally $200+ being sold for for $90 buying 5 and flipping each for lets say $150 is ok profit for just a click of a button.

Unfortunately, shipping cost kills any deal to be had.

There's a lot more work than just a click of button. Personally, I don't see it worth the time unless you start doing huge volumes.
