But yes, the Cam Plus Lite should still have a "name your price" payment option, and $0 is an option.
This is just a guess. However, I believe this all came about because Wyze realized how expensive the cloud storage was for them, but they had already marketed the cameras up to the V3s as having free cloud storage and free Person Detection. Legally, it would be problematic if they charged for these services, but if customers chose to pay for it then it's not really Wyze charging for it.
The newer cameras cannot use Cam Plus Lite, but they also weren't advertised as having free cloud storage and free Person Detection which is why these need the paid Cam Plus subscription for these services.
nice didnt know if it supported these older ones too.. wanted to make sure! I am gonna get more cams for sure.. maybe threw this deal or homedepot
I'd only recommend getting the newest version ( the OG ) if you are going to buy Wyze. my personal feeling is there is no reason to buy refurbished or older units when the newest OG model is only $24.00 ( $46 for a 2-pack )
I'll be upgrading to the OG's in a few weeks.
