You forgot to mention the $1390 destination fee, $425 for wall connector, $230 for mobile charger, $250 non-refundable order fee.

Tesla Model 3 RWD starts at $40,240 but is now eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit (income limits apply). Previously, it was only eligible for $3,750. This makes the starting price $32,740 after tax credit.

Deal is even sweeter if you live in a state with additional credits:

VT: $26,320
MA: $26,830
PA: $27,330
RI: $27,820
DE: $27,820
NY: $28,320
CA: $28,330
CO: $28,330
CT: $29,030
ME: $29,320

Full tax credit details below, but the following income limits apply:

$300,000 for married couples filing jointly
$225,000 for heads of households
$150,000 for all other filers

NO IT DOES NOT.

Withholding is totally irrelevant to qualifying for the credit.

If you're unclear on this go read a 1040.

The part where you compute tax liability is lines 16 through 24.

THAT is where the $7500 EV credit comes off.

Your withholdings aren't even looked at until after that on line 25+

This is also not correct.

The Child Tax Credit is worth a maximum of $2,000 per qualifying child. Up to $1,600 is refundable for the 2023 tax year.

Refundable credits are computed AFTER non-refundable ones-- so the CTC is only "worth" $400 off your tax burden for these purposes- the $1600 left is refundable.

Thus if you had say $7900 in tax burden and one CTC and one EV credit, your tax burden would go to $0 and you'd get a full refund of the $1600 refundable part of the CTC

You need to update your W4 pronto so where you work stops withholding taxes due. Maybe others have a better idea?
For roughly the 930th time in this thread-

Your W4 withholdings have no impact at all on how much of the EV credit you qualify for.

I got a question if I owe federal taxes $10,000 I will get the full credit for $7500 and then I would only have to pay $2500 for taxes??

Yes, assuming you have no other credits to take.

2024 and 2025 models are going to be a lot more competitive, I expect prices to fall substantially over the next 1-2 years. All asset classes are inflated right now.
...more competative?

The Model 3 is the best selling mid-sized sedan in the world.

The Model Y is the best selling vehicle of ANY kind in the world.

It's everyone else that needs to get more competitive, and so far not a great job LMAO

I don't see $37830 on website, looks $40240.
Then you are looking at the order page, not the inventory page (or searching a small area they are sold out of base trim inventory cars I guess might also be possible)

Any deals on real cars such as Fords. Tired of this garbage tesla "deals". Tell the tree huggers to spot the tax rebates themselves.

Ford only makes one car BEV- the Mach E SUV

It's more expensive, for inferior specs, antiquated engineering in comparison to the equivalent Tesla SUV (model Y), and they barely sell any of them compared to the Model Y being literally the best selling vehicle in the world.

So your opinion is not reflected in reality I'm afraid

Are there new models of Tesla coming out as the ones out there just do not appeal to me and the build quality on Tesla's are known to be terrible. Hoping they release a new version with a trim around the window as I hate the one that is currently available because feel the window will rattle after sometime, also an actual SUV version that is an SUV not the one that is currently available which is just a bigger/taller sedan with funky doors. Not sure if I am completely sold that EVs are the future as they still take a long time to charge.

Bolt is based on older platform. It'll be replaced with more popular body style on ultium platform with better margins. Seems like a good business decision.
I agree. Except Bolt is their entry level BEV vehicle, like the Leaf is with Nissan. Both companies are discontinuing theirs. Nissan has no entry vehicle replacement plan, and I have heard that neither does GM. Just like Musk was suppose to create an entry level vehicle but never did. The M3 has been way to expensive until now with the lowered price and renewed Federal rebate, but it is still not at an entry level price.

i nought my model 3 in 2020. it embarrassing how much better this car is to your typical 30k gas guzzler. waking up to a 'full tank', the quiet, the lack of noxious and dangerous emissions, blowing past dangerous drivers, the constant improvement through over the air updates. amazing. yes, their are other good Evs, but the charging network sets this one apart imho
Ride quality, cabin noise, and build quality isn't that great for the price point. That being said I'm still considering one if I can make use of multiple incentives. No need to be needlessly adversarial about a purchase you make. Totally unnecessary and childish. Different people have different needs.

You call others undereducated, yet you can't even write one simple sentence without making three grammatical errors yourself. The irony is so moronic, it's hysterical. 🤣

You consider 200 miles of charge in 15 minutes "too long"? Not when you wake up to a full charge every day. You'll only need to wait on a charge during long road trips when you'll need bathroom breaks anyway.

In the world of automobiles, I've found the opposite to be a best practice. Any tow truck driver or mechanic is likely to say you want to buy the later model where they've worked out all the kinks and not the one right after a major redesign.
Well, I would not argue if the new model to be released would be something from scratch. Usually in ICE cars drivetrain components are different in a new model and there could be unexpected issues along with the new design, however Tesla has been using the similar electric motor design and battery components in their vehicles, they update the motor design or battery from time to time but they do no release as a new model. In the new Model 3 most of the changes will be in the interior and exterior design to make more sporty, roomy and efficient to gain more range. I do not expect drastic changes in the drivetrain.

Same answer as last time you asked- never.

Going back over 5 years now pricing has mostly been in the 80-100k range on the non-performance model. There was a brief dip down to ~75k and then finally ~70k RIGHT before the major 2021 refresh, after which it went right back up again and has remained in the 80-100k range ever since.

If you must have an S, and can't afford to spend over 50k you'll need to look at the used market.

Personally when I test drove both I found the 3 the better car to drive... smaller, lighter, more nimble, easier to fit in narrow places/parking lots, and the P is just as quick as the non-Plaid S.... (the plaid S is a whole different universe of fast of course, but you can also buy 2 or 3 Model 3s for what it costs)

Come back in 10 years and revisit your comment, they have been saying we are on the brink of environmental collapse since the 70s, yet here we are. We put out a a fraction of what all other countries are doing in terms of "pollution" By all means, don't use gas, but don't force me to give up my ICE as a convinence to appease your mind.
California makes most of the food for America. We spend a lot on climate assessment to mitigate risk. At some point food cost will double then we're going to give massive discounts to states with carbon sequestration.

How does someone have so little purpose in their life they resort to yelling into the void about the sheer existence of a car of all things.

$37830
-7500 federal tax credit
-3500 ma ev rebate(refundable)
-1500 trade in discount on sales tax. I am waiting for final trade in offer, for now it show $1000 more than I expected. I hope they give that number. My delivery date is next tuesday.
Total 25330.
1500 trade in discount shouldn't be counted since you will sell your current car at higher price to a private party. Still a good deal. My state Texas doesn't have any incentive.
