i wonder if the recent one is because new games are now 69.99 , so they were like ":hell no, were not shipping them for free, make the customer buy something else " lol

They increased almost all of the, "clearance" prices to MSRP. You MIGHT be getting clearance price possibly after purchasing both but I doubt it. Hard pass…

It's just a matter of time before GS will file for bankruptcy. Slow, but sure death with the current leadership.
Tell that to the apes... They actually report quarterly results this week. Should be telling for the future.

Why whould Gamestop go bankrupt with $1.39 B [macrotrends.net] cash on hand?

Plus the GME stock price is going up today.

I want to like the Naruto blanket. Its my favorite anime. But I can't think of a single instance in the entire series where he is using those weapons in that way.

Plenty of companies have lots of cash on hand or bump in stock price, but poor business model will catch up with them eventually.

The cash infusion from fanboys is just temporary fix.

Short term is not necessarily a sign of the future, but we can already tell with the current business model. Why would anyone pay $30/year and then have to order $80 worth of stuff to get free shipping, when everyone and their mother has an Amazon Prime membership.

On their last clearance sale, I spent about an hour adding a truckload of items that I thought were a great deal, and at the checkout, several items were out of stock or for some reason were not available for my zipcode, when shopping they were all available so at the end I gave up. Do they still have these issues?

man gamestop is really digging themselves in to the grave. I stopped buying the pro member ship once they stopped letting you use the $5 monthly coupon on eshop cards and now $80 to get free shipping?! they are shooting themselves in the foot.

BOGO has worked like this everywhere since the dawn of time. Just sayin'
Only if it's this way at GameStop, because I have ordered from other stores and it was applied properly.

Except me I don't need it. Shipping free depends on amount purchased.

I don't just shop at Amazon I go to Costco in person to look at food I buy not processed trash on Amazon you don't get to see

Not sure how you buying groceries has anything to do with GameStop.

Do you shop for groceries (or food) at GameStop?

If not, what you saying has no bearing on our discussion.

PS, I love Costco too, but a lot of the stuff Costco sells is also sold at Amazon.

They got that cash infusion a year and a half ago, and seem to be doing pretty well still. I felt the same way initially; I thought that the stock would crash immediately after the WallStreetBets thing. Thing is; GameStop is no longer a game store, realistically.

They've turned into a discount store that buys up nerd merch that doesn't sell in bulk then flip it, and they've turned into an electronics boutique that buys up consoles and other electronics in bulk to distribute. Their stock has been fluctuating between $20 and $30 for a while now, and they've turned into what's perceived as a safe investment to the layperson as well.

As long as they can just stay even, they're actually in a pretty decent spot. Unlike most companies that need to always grow to make their shareholders happy, I think GameStop is in a position where they could just maintain the status quo for a long time and remain in a good place.

I don't know about you, but I don't invest into a stock that isn't growing and stay "even". There's a huge difference between short term goals and long term goals. Short term, you can have losses with a view of long term benefits.

As I said, I have no belief in GameStop leadership will turn it around. I honestly don't see how they'll compete. It takes years for the deterioration to show, and it takes years to rebuild.

Because there is literally no reason for Gamestop to exist any more. Their entire business model was buying used games and reselling them, when they were stopped from doing that they instantly became the new Blockbuster. Gamestop is running on fumes right now, their days are absolutely numbered.

Let us see what happens. Gamestop is working on online games marketplace.

What happened to Bed, Bath & Beyond? Was it bad management or people started ordering from online only?
