Good price for a new one sold by Walmart.com and not bobs fish shack.
Looks like $6 2yr replacement plan. These only last a year maybe a bit more if they are used year round. They always start to mold too regardless how many times you vinegar water it. But I'm in for one. Will use till the cooler fan stops working or the basket sensor fails. Had this happen on one. Sensor on second. Stopped cooling on third.
I would love to know if anyone has had better luck with another type of setup.
Use a 2 gallon zip lock. Once the ice fully freezes, tap it with a mallet or "drop" the bag on the counter top to break the ice up. Tapping softly is the key.

Downside to this type or ice maker, ice is wet when it's done. If you try to make a batch and then throw it in your freezer, it'll be one big clump.
Agree 100%. Wife loved hers she got for Christmas from BestBuy for basically the same price. But if you move it to the freezer after making it, it becomes unusable after an hour once it becomes one large clump. Unlike an in-freezer ice maker, it won't dehumidify / flash freeze the surface of the the freshly made ice as they fall out (and are bigger/easier to break apart)
