The only thing taken off is the delivery fee. They add 1 or 2 dollars to each menu item to make up for that. And they still have service charges. So basically this membership thing is a lie. It provides no real form of discount.

I cancelled last month after only using it once in the free year.. every time I would want to use it cost was at least $10-$25+ more expensive any of these delivery services are but Uber eats gives a few coupons here and there.
We will see how things go in the next two years…

Aren't they harder than hell to get them to cancel it after. I heard they just keep charging your card after you try to cancel
Not hard to cancel. I have subscribed to Seamless+/Grubhub+ (the regular paid subscription, not this offer) and cancelled a few times before. Never an issue.
I prefer Doordash, which I get as a benefit with my Chase card, so now rarely use Grubhub, but this will be nice to have as backup

These companies are scams. Just pick up your own food.

Grub Hub has a class action lawsuit against them for several deceptive practices.

https://topclassactions.com/lawsu...l-schemes/

Door Dash was hit with its own class action lawsuit for charging iPhone users more than Android users, and then tacking on an 'extended range fee" to subscribers of Dash Pass, essentially giving no benefits to the $10 a month premium service with the $0 delivery fee.

https://nypost.com/2023/05/24/doo...one-users/

I mean if you're drunk or high and want to eat, yes, pay the premium and be safe! But if you have a car and can drive, use it to pick up your own food.

Through my experience the fees are higher on Grubhub than Doordash.

Who's going to prosecute these services for fraud? I used a (U) different service. 49c delivery fee, but "$6.95 service fee ". And, the product may be marked up ( faux Mexican food C ).
Call Ronald McDonald, he's had great success busting the Hamburgler.

It's all a ruse.

Make them feel like they are getting a "deal".

I'm falling deeper into the 🐇 hole, but willingly take the blue pill.

Any reviews on grubhub? I usually use doordash but overall I've just been cooking my own food tbh.

I try not to use Grubhub if I don't have to. The only reason I use this service is if there's a Gift Card that was given to me. My past experience tells me that Grubhub isn't safe in regard to your information. DO NOT save any CC or PayPal information with their website or app. There are multiple times online where someone can get your information and order food without you knowing until it's too late and Grubhub will not do anything about it. It has happened to me! I was lucky because I was able to get a refund, but the hassle is not worth it! Until they can improve their security, no thanks!

GrubHub+ page says:

"If you received a one-year trial extension from Grubhub via email, your trial will be extended for 365 days from your initial trial expiration date."

Sounds like YMMV?
I got the email about the extension. My Grubhub account still says it will expire on July 6th and that any extensions may be active on July 9th. Hmmm I'm wondering if there is going to be some "mix up" and I get charged between that gap.

That being said, I havent used Grub Hub a single time since I activated the offer last year LMAO

Does anyone receive GH coupons? I never have. In my experience, the never-ending UberEats 40% off coupon always makes UberEats cheaper than GH. Even with the "free" membership.

I cancelled mine after I realized I would never use it and for fear I would forget and then start paying for it. Grubhub, Doordash, Ubereats are all a massive ripoff. I am truly baffled when my coworkers get food delivered all the time.

They are just hoping millions of lazy Amazon subscribers forget and in a year or two they start unknowingly paying $10 for something they never use. I see these companies either going away or consolidating down to 1 or 2 companies. The ridiculous fees will never go away because without them it's not a viable business.

There was a pair of young bachelors living in the townhouse next door to me. They burst a pipe a couple winters ago and flooded the whole building because they could never afford to run the furnace in the winter. They would get water and power shutoff notices posted on their door just about every month. Last month they finally got evicted after being 4 months behind on rent.

Uber eats never stopped showing up at their door 2-3 times a day the whole 2.5 years they lived there. Literally up until they day they shoved as much as they could into a truck and took off.

If I have never used Grubhub, do I need this?
No, you don't. Do yourself a favor and avoid these food delivery services at all costs. Then have fun chuckling at your coworkers that waste money getting food delivered every day.
