The only thing taken off is the delivery fee. They add 1 or 2 dollars to each menu item to make up for that. And they still have service charges. So basically this membership thing is a lie. It provides no real form of discount.

I didn't know that drivers deliver free to those who don't tip. I thought they get paid by GrubHub.
You get a pitiful amount. It's like 60 cents a mile with Uber. No one is delivering for these companies and not counting on tips. It wouldn't even be worth the gas in most cases.

Sure, free Grub Hub service but ... Having to pay a Delivery Fee + Tip + a premium on food price vs in-store price = No go for me. Fo those that can afford spending $thousands extra every year on food, enjoy the convenience!

Highly inflated prices on GH compared to DD or UE. I'd never use it.

They are just hoping millions of lazy Amazon subscribers forget and in a year or two they start unknowingly paying $10 for something they never use. I see these companies either going away or consolidating down to 1 or 2 companies. The ridiculous fees will never go away because without them it's not a viable business.
Well I don't see it going away any time soon the young lady's order about three times a from these services.

On Amazon, you can no longer filter by seller, even when you choose a subcategory in the search results. When I contacted Amazon support they acknowledged that the feature was removed and I would need to click each item to find out who seller is.

After having a Prime account for 20+ years, I'm going to finally cancel. Here's a recent reddit thread with others having same problem:

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been bigger news. This is always how I have shopped on the site with the filter down, sold by. I thought this was how most people shopped while browsing but maybe not if it's not being talked about much.

Using these services are one of the least fiscally responsible things a person can do with their money.

"A fool and thy money are easiest parted" so let's give them 2 "free" years to do it.
Nah, you just have to be smart about it. Same applies to DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Get free "premium" membership to each from Amazon, credit cards, etc...

Combine with 15-20% off face value gift cards which are frequently available for all 3 services. Those gift card discounts essentially pay for tips and any fees added.

Plus take advantage of promotions, coupon codes, etc. that each offers and more often than not I end up paying less than ordering direct and picking up.

Weird... Maybe grubhub already canceled my 1 year + membership from Amazon that started last July. Clicked the link and I now have another 2 years expiring in June 2025

These companies are scams. Just pick up your own food.

Grub Hub has a class action lawsuit against them for several deceptive practices.

https://topclassactions.com/lawsu...l-schemes/

Door Dash was hit with its own class action lawsuit for charging iPhone users more than Android users, and then tacking on an 'extended range fee" to subscribers of Dash Pass, essentially giving no benefits to the $10 a month premium service with the $0 delivery fee.

https://nypost.com/2023/05/24/doo...one-users/

I mean if you're drunk or high and want to eat, yes, pay the premium and be safe! But if you have a car and can drive, use it to pick up your own food.
Couldn't have said it better! It's cheaper even with free delivery plus it is faster. I went for this deal the first time I saw it and never needed it. Pass.

I jumped on this last year, cancelled after a month or two. It didn't take long to realize even with this discount and rapid inflation that this is one of the best ways to throw your money into the wind.
