Verizon:
$200+$35 activation fee+$65 x 2 plan cost for 60 days = $365 + tax on device paid to walmart at checkout
$365+$12.44 = $377.44 for TX

I WAS able to get those refunded, I did not pay activation, nor any prorated/first month charges! The ideal way, is You need to pay off the phone, and cancel within 3 days of activation to get refunded everything. When you call to cancel, reconfirm you will get the refund for safe measure, and specify you want to cancel the line immediately (otherwise it will run until end of first month).

information can be found ON THIS PAGE [verizon.com]
"You may terminate service for any reason within 30 days of activation. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation."

I just went through the steps and it's a $35 activation fee and the cheapest plan is $65/mo plus taxes.

So at least $300 if you cancel. That's half off the price from apple.com.

I'm also trying to understand how this works.

So I can buy this phone, pay off the total phone balance ($200) immediately, and as long as I also pay to be on some verizon line for 60 days straight it should also get unlocked automatically?

Please advise if anyone have experience with these, thanks!

I have VZW prepaid right now, can I buy this phone and just activate w/ my existing prepaid SIM card? Or do I need to sign up for an arbitrary line w/ credit check postpaid for at least a month type of thing? Port number or new line?
I just tried with prepaid and it gave error saying it needs to be postpaid.

So for ATT and Verizon - if we buy now + signup for a new plan and pay off device in full. If we then switch the device onto a prepaid plan for 60 days...will it unlock?

Collection status would mean whatever bill you have with VZW isn't paid.

I only know this from what I've read and not from actually doing it so I can't be 100% on this. As long as you activate the line with Verizon, and pay off your payment plan and aren't in collections the phone will unlock after 60 days.

So that should mean a person could activate, pay off phone and then same day do a disconnect and just pay whatever they charge for that day of service. 60 days later make sure you are at least on Wi-Fi and phone unlocks.
Can anyone confirm this? I'd like to get this and use it with Xfinity. $200 feels like a solid deal. These a 5G yes?

The battery life on this thing is horrid if you're a power user. Size is perfect but battery suck. I'm using one for last 2 years…
I'd suggest you purchase a battery replacement from Apple. I'm also using a 13 mini, and the battery life is fantastic. I use my phone all day and usually have 20% at the end of the day. Not as good as the regular 13 but more than enough for my needs. About 1 year old so the battery health is still good. At 2 years you're probably getting close to 85-89% battery health.

There is always so much fine print... even if you are genuinely interested in purchasing it.

"Requires 36 months, 0% APR installment agreement, qualifying credit and qualifying service plan. "

Agree. Over 3 years the phone costs $200 + additional overcharges for qualified plan. Most likely qualifying plan is at least $10 more that you need, that's $360 extra.
