That, and cutting straight or using some kind of track or edge guide so as not to get the blade bound up in the kerf. Even the much hated low powered 5-1/2" Ryobi will cut great with the proper technique unless you're going really thick into really hard wood.

I make my own for my circular saws. Just use two types of sheet goods (I use 1/4 mdf for the base and 1/2 ply for the fence). In my case, I cut a strip about 4 or five inches to ensure clearance for the motor of the saw. Keep note of the factory edge when you glue the strip to the 1/4 MDF. Then make your zero clearance cut with the saw riding against the factory edge of the 4 or 5 inch strip. Most people end it there, as you have your track for the saw to run on but sometimes I add a cleat to the bottom (1x2). That will enable you to measure once and but the track up against the measurement. Just note that when you add a cleat you are reducing the distance of your track by the thickness of the cleat. So if you make a track out of 1/4 MDF that is 4 feet you will not be able to rip down a 4 foot sheet.

This saw is garbage. Bought to use on job of replacing our deck. Struggled to get through many boards. Would spend more and get a decent saw.

Just bought the 15 amp over the weekend and used it yesterday. Cut a 2x12's like butter (made risers for new steps). I do like to pinch pennies, but I think the laser and storage bag was worth it...IMO.

I can't speak to the answer you are looking for, but having a few amps clearance makes me feel better about using tools with extension cords.

I'm going to buy it at 30, it fits my budget. I hope it's sufficient to work fine. I feel lasers are a bit gimmicky. I'll just develop my cutting skills without it

LOL, SKIL tools are all red, LOL. Like Milwaukee. Not as good as Milwaukee, but mid-level okay brand. I have both.
Used to be much more respected back in the day. Their Skilsaw is still the best though.
I recommend, for this price, if you are not a professional, and corded saw is good enough for you

Can I put a diamond blade and cut through concrete? I need to run some piping and if things go bad for the saw I can dispose it afterwards for this price point. Trying to DIY.
