Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

car market has shifted from a year ago
and if you can wait, i highly recommend people hold out another year if they can before their next new car purchase.

Got a quote today. SEL. 52.8k sticker. 43.8k sale price. Even with the decent price, the lease was still $578/mo on 10k miles w 5k down (not that I would do 5k but for comparison to the deal posted here). They're jamming you on the MF which is close to 7%. Residuals were ok low to mid 50%.

Why the other car manufacturers can't sell directly to consumers like what Tesla does?

I got my kona ev in July 2021 for msrp of 29.5. The 7500 from the federal incentive, and then the dealer knocked off an additional 5000 because they wanted to get rid of it for the incoming 2022 models. Put 0 down and paying 345 a month. Not impossible just need to shop around and know the nunbers.

Good price, but ionic5 has a known 12v battery problem, Google it so you know what you are getting into. Same for Tesla, Google real Tesla on Reddit. The point is evs are still immature right now, so wait if you can.
I mean, that's a good tidbit of info, but even non-EV still regularly have issues that end up with several TSB or recalls. Tesla is definitely still immature, I'll give you that.

There is an asset with a forecasted price and an actual value. Saying you can not negotiate a purchase price based on that spread (and interest of both parties) is silly... of course you can, and it occurs a large percentage of the time.
No, you can't. Don't provide inaccurate information to consumers.
Show us where in the lease contract the lessor grants this consideration to the lessee.?

That is right, nowhere.
There is only a purchase option at the contracted residual value. Thats it.

Just because, in the past *some* leasing companies made offers to get you to buy out the vehicle at the end of the lease does not mean you have that right or that such an option will be available in the future.

IF you want to negotiate the price, then purchase the vehicle outright.

Yes the money factor is pretty bad on e-GMP car leases right now, but thats the economy for you I guess. Thats part of why I went used when I bought my 22 Wind AWD EV6. A lease deal wasn't going to get close to the deal I got.

Highly do not recommend ioniq5 to anyone. The ICCU and 12v battery issues are well documented.

Plenty of people all having issues at the 1 year mark where the car is bricked. Repair and parts take months and the best case is Hyundai dealer will put you in an Elantra until your car is fixed.

Even after the fix, issue can happen again. Rinse repeat.

I believe people are conflating the tax credit with the dealer's sale price. Buying it for MSRP - $7500 tax credit is not a 'deal' being made by the dealer. He's still selling it for MSRP.
You are correct.
Advertised prices mean little if anything.
That is why everyone should negotiate the dealer discount as Pre-incentive.

The car is fine. I hate Hyundai dealer. Long story short...
I pre ordered mid 21, i got email in early 22 that my car coming to the dealer assigned in few months. I went to the dealer within 30 minutes after the email arrived.
The dealer told me: so sorry, we sold your car to someone else. I asked why? He said its because of that person paid 10K mark up and few more K Add ons.
I was furious, called Hyundai Corp, nothing they can do. My impression is the corporation support this practice that dealer screwed customer.
Mine was Limited, available after they deliver the other models. People already pissed off at that time. VW and Ford took action and no mark up.
A lot of people complained about after sales too, dealer have no idea how to fix it.
Btw, I was assigned to different dealer, because of the dealer of my choice wasn't allowed to sell EV, no infrastructure to fix things at that time.

Sooo... in short, stay away from Hyundai dealer, they are bunch of bad people.
I am in San Diego and had been calling all dealer in area... same story... i end up getting VW ID4 and happy since then.
Uhm did you see the mark ups on the Bronco last year... 😮 💨

Did all Hyundai sales reps colluded to upvote this terrible deal to make it front page worthy?

I bought my Ioniq5 6weeks ago in TN, and got $4000 off MSRP. There were a ton of them on the lot and they weren't moving. I drive past Hyundai dealerships weekly and it looks like they have even more of them on the lot. If I had to guess A.the supply chain issues are finally coming back to normal, at least with Hyundai EVs. B., I think most people that really wanted Ioniq5 (it's quirky styling isnt for everyone) have already got one, and with the $7500 incentive gone, they are just sitting on the lot.

Now, I love the car, and have no issues with Hyundai (previous car was a Veloster), but paying MSRP or higher is a complete rip-off at this point

You mean $4000 off including the $3750 retail bonus cash correct?

Yes The residual value is calculated after the 36 month term. So the lease end value plus the down payment, plus the 36 months of payments as well as the Taxes and DMV fees.
That would be around $24,000 at a 7.75% sales tax rate.

rav4 prime is way overpriced now that people who are skeptical of EV but still want to try it out are flocking to it. Seems like the supply is also extremely limited
My parents got a 21 right before all the crazy crazy markups. I like it a lot but it has the slower charger (it was an option pre 22) and the tech is SO dated. And there's weird stuff like the interior door switches don't light up. Hopefully the newer models got a little better.

5k off.

It's actually being sold at straight MSRP because the $5,000 is not a dealer discount.
It's an HMA Retail Bonus Cash incentive.

Frank Hyundai is a reasonable dealer, though.

This is actually a decent offer, I just laugh that it's DC13 posting it, dude takes literally every opportunity to hate on Tesla. This is effectively a 3 year lease on an Ioniq 5 for approx $15k for the standard range. No clue on the buyout. If you have the tax liability a Tesla is approx 31k to own outright.

Two solid options IMO.
