Ease up on the hard sell there, partner. If your deal is good, it'll speak for itself...don't worry, the click and buy commissions will keep rolling in.
Why do staff even post deals? Why are those deals often front page without upvotes? It has made this entire site seem so shady.
SD site is getting progressively worse....truth

Still the dumbest item I've seen advertised.
I see zero use case for this.
If you live in the city where do you use it or store it.
If you live in the suburbs you have a fire pit or Weber.
If you live on a ranch you have everything.
If you live in a van it takes up too much space.
Yeah, I'm still somehow tempted to buy one because I see them hyped so often but I have a regular off the ground metal fire pit and a clay chiminea (rarely use because the pit is better). I guess maybe for camping if you're somewhere that you need a contained fire pan during dry season? I've always used a metal trash can lid for that...

I'm not sure why anyone would claim a deal without any upvotes becomes a Frontpage deal. This is simply inaccurate.

Deals get to the Frontpage when they garner lots of interest from the community in the form of votes and other positive feedback. Deal Editors then perform research, validate the deals, and post them to Frontpage.

Also, side note - I don't take it personally when people post they're not buying a deal. If you want to buy elsewhere - or pay more - or not buy at all, that's great, thanks for letting us know. If you do find an item for less, please consider sharing a link or posting a deal so we may all potentially benefit. We are a community of deal lovers, not haters.

The "community" has been eroded by your artificial pushing of affiliate and high commission click items that aren't actually a "deal". Us OG members remember what this site used to be like, and it's obvious it's now driven by commission and profit over genuine deals.

My local nursery had the 19.5" HotShot for $79, which I thought was a pretty good deal vs the retail price of these. I gotta say it's pretty good. Smokes initially, as per the YouTube demo's, but once it gets going there's not much smoke and it does give out a lot of heat. I bought some hardwood logs from Home Depot which fit perfectly lengthwise. I can see finding store bought logs an issue with the 15" version, unless you're prepared to cut them down smaller, or have them poking out the top.

Small metal trash can works. Even has a lid to cap it at the end of the night, in the morning it's your trash can again ✅✅

I would agree with all the complaining about no-voted stuff getting instant FP no question but my god to downvote an actual deal or complain about "how it used to be... ect" just please leave the site already..

Some posts I see your point. However, I also imagine if you're passionate enough of a SD'er to be on staff you probably like posting deals as well. I'm pretty hard core since 2008 and I have never considered helping as an admin or anything like that. This is pretty meta though.

I'm contemplating getting this but concerned about the longevity of outdoor storage based on the reviews. Any feedback there?

"passionate enough of a SD'er to be on staff...". Aren't staff simply paid employees who are incentivized to get more people to buy?

Beach, camping, bring to a friend's house who doesn't have a fire pit. I'm sure there are more reasons.

Been using slickdeals since about 2003-4 ish. Back then the type of deals you found were unbelievable mostly price mistake, employee discounts, student discounts that were extended to all, etc not just it is on sale or a little bit cheaper.

$80 seems kinda expensive for what is basically a steel cylinder with holes in it. Does anyone know what benefits this expensive version offers over the cheaper ones from Aliexpress, ebay, etc. for half or a quarter of the price?

If you're not using it to be portable, find a stainless washer drum and use that.

A plain washer drum is not going to be smokeless, which is the entire point. Also will look like ****.

It's a small, self-contained portable firepit that produces near zero smoke.

If you can't figure out any use case for that, it's not the product that's the dumb one here.

I have the Mesa XL for which I paid $75 and I think it's worth it for my needs. I use it with the kid to roast marshmallows or just to have a small fire when I don't want to stink like smoke afterwards. It works as described but I have not figured out how to add more fuel (I mostly use pellets) without it choking the fire out and I think it's due to the small size. I'm usually good with one fire so again, good for my needs and I believe others. I'd say if you are on the fence about this deal then get it, you'll like it.
