It is good, just do be aware eufy has been put on a sorta quiet boycott for their lying of mishandled user videos, essentially anyone could tap into the cameras because of lack of end to end encryption, they did "fix" this after denying it for a while but ppl have lost all trust in the cameras i think anker overall is still a good brand, i have their robo vaccume doorbell, chargers cables, and even an indoor cam i own guns so im not scared if ppl try to break in my house

I have a bunch of the floodlight and floodlight pro, was excited about the AI face detection when Homebase 3 launched, it was promised to support floodlights I think originally for end of 2022, of course it kept slipping to mid June and mid August this year!
Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!
https://support.eufy.com/s/articl...HomeBase-3
They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

Anybody have experience buying from Eufy's site directly? I'm wondering how often they have sales. They currently have a Father's Day Sale, and I think they had an anniversary sale before that a week or so ago. But not sure if it's the norm for their items to always be on sale.

Aside from the terrible lies about data staying local, I bought two floodlight cams and they both failed.

Customer service is terrible trying to get them to replace, even under warranty!

Stay away!

someone mentioned you can get a solar with usb c and plug it in to charge...youll just lose water resistant capabilities on the plug area. i think a link was provided on one of the first 3 pages
Are you suggesting water will destroy my outdoor cam if it's plugged into a solar panel? I can't imagine this would be true or why would they be selling these solar panels in the first place?

Warning to indoor cam owners considering home base version 3--
If you want to store your indoor cam videos on HomeBase, you will only get 1080p resolution, not indoor cam native 2K resolution that stores on the cameras locally. Because of this I decided to not get the new home base

I have owned 4x euFy Solo Pro cameras with Solar Panels ($750), 1x Front Door Bell Camera 2K version ($100), 1x Door Lock with WiFi ($100).

1. Customer Support - If your product goes out of warranty after the first 12 months, do not expect the company to replace/repair the product, or provide battery replacements. You will be thrown out in the ocean with a 6" stick as your lifevest, by them offering a 15% refund option on a purchase of a new product from their Amazon storefront.

I have had 2x cameras fail on me 15 days out of the 12 month warranty period, and the support team did not offer a courtesy warranty, nor a replacement/repair option at cost to the customer.

2. Battery Life (Solar) - If you plan to install multiple of these to cover your entire house, do not expect these to keep charge. I had to frequently climb up, get them back and charge it manually. And the ones that did not charge were in my backyard, and had hardly any humans/movement save apart from me gardening every weekend. These will only maintain charge when installed in a very optimal condition; so probably 2 sides out of the 4 to cover your home.

3a. Human Detection - It is very hit or miss. For the one facing your garage, it consistently failed to detect movement if you have your car parked.
3b. Front Door Human Detection - Again very hit or miss, only works if the person is walking towards it in a very specific trajectory, any turns or side movement, and no detection.

I could have had possibly lived with the iffy detection, or the weekly/biweekly manual charging, but I absolutely cannot stand or support a company that treats its customers like stupid dogs once the 12-month contractual warranty agreement is up.

TLDR: My advice, stay away from battery based tech, and spend the initial installation cost on wired cameras and it will turn out cheaper in the long run.

There is no mention of being able to view the live video on an Amazon Echo Show or Google Nest - does anyone know if it works? eufy has a video on youtube called "How to Connect eufy Cameras with Amazon Alexa [youtube.com]" but lots of comments on the video suggest that it won't work. One person says enabling "web portal access" in the app will allow it to work, but the app must be running on your phone which is inconvenient. Another comment:

Quote :
when you set it up in the app on your phone- "it says Live view not supported". the funny thing is, that when I went to my Fire TVs and gave the voice command "show me the front door" the live view worked perfectly. I'm not concerned about it not working on my phone, since the Eufy app will work for live view on the phone. But if you have any Fire TV devices it will work once the skill and device are installed correctly despite it saying "Live view not supported".

what's the difference between this s220 vs the s230 that goes on sale for $130 quite often. I review the specs can cannot see the difference. https://www.amazon.com/eufy-Solar...B098X8XZFS
The S230 aka S40 appears to be a slightly older model and as of June 2023, it does not yet offer Homebase3 compatibility. If you choose this camera and compatibility with HB3 is not added, you'll lose AI-driven detection features such as vehicle detection, animal detection etc.

Additionally, according to reviews, Cameras linked to Homebase units alert faster and load liveview and recordings faster than just standalone over wifi.

thats because the usb c port has to be closed to create a seal. if you open the port to charge it via 3rd party solar then water can enter the camera...people have complained about water intrusion without having an external solar charger plugged in. I rather just bring my camera in once every 4 to 6 months and charge it rather than plug in a solar.

You misread or misunderstood. The auto lock after certain time is different than the feature I'm referring to that they are advertising. The time based auto lock you're referring to just locks whether the door is closed or not. What they are advertising here is that a built-in sensor would detect that the door is closed and lock automatically. It's a big deal for me and is the major reason I bought it since my people often try to close the door after it locks and the deadbolt is extended which damages the door jamb and the lock.

Install a door closer, or spring loaded closing hinges

replace the strike plate with a new strike that has an extended lip to protect your door jamb

I still couldn't figure out why it doesn't connect with our Deco mesh network. Truly bizarre.

Double-check when you get renewed. I ordered a renewed homebase 2 w/2x cam2 pro kit off Amazon (Eufy seller). One of the camera is new but a cam2 (non-pro) and the other is a beat up cam2 pro with the lens rubber seal partly off. I.e. they don't check! Amazon is great in handling the return though.

Dud they were posted everywhere on compatibility. I am not going to waste too much time to prove anything when every person here knows this but you.

I bought it because they said it will connect with all their devices when Homebase 3 first came out.
I'm with you on this. Eufy on their security line has a habit of promising then not delivering. Homebase 2 external storage never happened. As for Homebase 3, they now say wired video doorbells are not supported.

So summary - if you need a critical function/support that is "promised" but not yet available, wait before you buy or just get something else.
