It is good, just do be aware eufy has been put on a sorta quiet boycott for their lying of mishandled user videos, essentially anyone could tap into the cameras because of lack of end to end encryption, they did "fix" this after denying it for a while but ppl have lost all trust in the cameras i think anker overall is still a good brand, i have their robo vaccume doorbell, chargers cables, and even an indoor cam i own guns so im not scared if ppl try to break in my house

I have a bunch of the floodlight and floodlight pro, was excited about the AI face detection when Homebase 3 launched, it was promised to support floodlights I think originally for end of 2022, of course it kept slipping to mid June and mid August this year!
Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!
https://support.eufy.com/s/articl...HomeBase-3
They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

I think you are trying to combine too many things. Once you start getting into the "real" security cameras at the high end, very few will have these features integrated.

Run something like Blue Iris to handle the monitoring, recording, and interface, and then just buy a nice RTSP camera that has PTZ.
Thanks, I'll look into this. I'm not really interested in cameras that lock you into their company's proprietary and inflexible ecosystem.

Plus the Kasa's image isn't that sharp and I wonder if it's truly 2k or interpolated.

Yeah, I get it. I have run Blue Iris for years and it's great for getting a bunch of different brand cameras into a unified inferface. It's crazy powerful (probably too powerful and granular TBH), but from listening to your needs, it would probably do nice.

I personally run it on my home server with cheapo Amcrest PTZ cameras that were less than $50, but I think those were only 1080p. They probably have a 2k or 4k version out now?

Installed one today, it does work wit homebase 2. No complaints, easy to set up
Did you add it to homebase 2 and confirm or did you add it as standalone?

It doesn't seem to matter anyway. The police have stopped investigating these cases and arresting these people up because the DA's office has made it clear that they won't prosecute these crimes in the name of 'equitable justice.' I finally couldn't take knowing that I was paying tens of thousands of dollars in property taxes alone each year and getting literally nothing in return for it so I sold and bolted. The amount of people who came to our moving sale and told us they were jealous and wanted to move was astounding.

And then they move and vote for the same thing all over again, apparently under the assumption that it was the physical location rather than the governance that caused all the problems.

I've gotten so used and spoiled by free SW that it feels weird to pay for it these days, other than security SW. But it's actually not that much, $80 or so I think for the 64 camera version. Perhaps though there's something similar if less capable and allowing fewer cameras that's freeware or shareware, though. I'll look into it. I don't need anything too fancy, just 3-4 cameras tops in one interface, that can work with most cameras. I'm still learning about this technology, RTSP, etc., so I'll have to do some research. Also into cameras. I only really want one new one, a true 2k PTZ one to supplement my existing 1080P ones. Something just feels off about the Kasa.

Yeah LA is bad. My cousin lives in Bel Air and exactly as you said. Things happen including sticks ups in her neighbors driveway.

I live in a safer part of the country with less riff raff and a more reliable police force. I always wondered why LA had so few cops for such a large city. NYC metro we are used to having a reliable police force.
We've never had a break-in although the downstairs neighbors reported one a decade ago soon after they moved in (and I suspect that it was a staged one to get insurance as there were just too many inconsistencies and iffy details in their story and in the years since they've proven to be unethical, dishonest and unpleasant people with no visible steady means of support), living in a very safe residential part of NYC in an outer borough.

Worst crimes I know of are catalytic converter thefts, which happened to us and some neighbors over the past year. But I have heard of an upswing in break-ins and robberies recently. Police usually arrive within minutes here, no matter the reason for calling them. We've called them a number of times, once after my car's cat was stolen, once when there appeared to be a rabid raccoon walking around during the day, once when some old car parts were stolen from the driveway, and several time when we had incidents with said neighbors (very loud noise late at night they refused to stop making, petty theft). And once when I got hit by a car (thankfully not serious). Always arrive within minutes.

I can't imagine defending my home with a gun. It's one thing to have one and believe that you'll use it if necessary, and another thing entirely to actually use it. Putting aside the skills and poise required to use it properly, many people are going to have moral difficulties in shooting another person, even a robber, when it comes to it. (Makes me wonder if there are devices that look just like a gun and make a very convincing gunshot sound and even spark when "shot" but which fire nothing, to scare robbers and attackers, with perhaps a real gun at your side if that doesn't work.) I'd much rather be able to rely on a decent local PD and measures like alarms, security services and cameras.

Question to those who bought this.

Does the code work if you add another one to cart?
I ordered two and the code applied to both ($100 each).

I get this is SlickDeals, but at a certain time your time has to be worth something. Yes, there are options like running them on your Synology if you have one. That works okay too. But again, you can get a Blue Iris license on eBay for like $50. Just buy it and move on with your life.

Any recommendations for installation for Texas? Would you install it where it would be under the sun during peak hours? I assuming that would greatly reduce life of the camera.

I have been using just battery ones that are hidden from direct sunlight, only charge them every 3-5 months. Paid about the same per camera,

It doesn't on my end. I switched to another Amazon account to place the order.
