Is it really too much for Denon to understand that the number one image that users would like to see is a clear picture of back of the receiver? They have so many picture but not one giving a clear view of the back. I can't even find in the specs whether this has preouts other than subs.

Blame Adorama. The pics are very clear on the Denon website.

This doesn't have any preouts. Only the X series models have preouts other the sub outputs.

I've only owned recievers made before the 2000's. Will this work with a smart switch or is it unnecessary because recievers have source/input detection and will turn on & off accordingly?

I have the S750 4k receiver and its really freaking good. I paid $499 2 years ago. Great interface and excellent sound.

i hooked up my smart switch to my denon 1400 and now the 970 and they have had no issues and i didnt have to mess with any settings. the 970 picked up the internet the instant i plugged it in

How much power do you need? I've got my s760 connected to a 5.1.2 setup with towers and a center up front and bookshelf speakers for surrounds.

I cannot come close to turning it up all the way.

None of my speakers have higher than a 89db or 90db sensitivity.
