Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

I have a Model Y and I absolutely love it. I look forward to running errands or getting groceries just so I can hop in the car again.

But To those looking to get an EV. Don't get a Tesla. Get a Volvo, an IX, a Bolt, a eTron anything but a Tesla.

(And that, my fellow Tesla owners is how you address it when people want to crap on a Tesla. Let them have their cars whether it's ICE or another brand EV while we have ours. No need to convince them otherwise).

But since I'm in the Volvo thread, costwise, this seems like a good deal as a lease. Might consider it as a secondary car.

I have a Volvo plug in hybrid, please don't buy this. You can have "fancy" touchscreen controls everywhere but not on the road. Need to send a message we want physical knobs and buttons

People are so quick to hate on Tesla, everyone forgetting that these new EVs are just numbers and promises at this point.

Wait for reviews and maybe a few model years for them to work out the kinks.

Look at the issues with f150 lightning, great example of not to throw your money into the first version.

This is the EV that I was waiting for. Finally. Good range, speed, looks good, and luxurious. And it's faster than my Volvo S60 T6 R-Design.

For size comparison - similar in size to a 2023 Kia Soul

Volvo EX30 - 72.3" W x 61" H x 166.7" L

Kai Soul - 71.0″ W x 63″ H x 165″ L

Volvo is about an inch and a half longer than the Kia
This is smaller than a Nissan Leaf!
176" L x 71" Wx 61-62" H

Are these made in China?

I am Volvo fan having been to the Volvo museum un Gothenberg4 yrs ago. My 2011 XC60 R Design has been solid and trouble-free with change rear brake, 2 sets of batteries and tires.Same goes for 2013 S60.

The most popular SUV in Europe is XC60 and you hardly see any Audi Q5 or BMW X3.

Exactly. While electrification seems to be the chosen path, and gas engines will inevitably fade away by attrition eventually, its not exactly happening tomorrow! Even with localities that have placed pretty aggressive targets on electrified adoption, your still talking 10yrs before they are even the majority sold. In addition to that, those last gas powered ones arent going to be instantly unusable, so added to that is the useful life of those too before they really start fading away. Also consider there is a sheer number of people that full EV's are just not remotely practical for. Not everyone has the ability to just plug in where they live or have the time or willing to sit at a charge station 30+mins frequently. Some people are wise to the true cost of an EV as well. Not much of a factor for those who get a different car every few years, but for those that cant afford to do that or tend to hold on to their cars for like 10-15yrs, facing a battery change is a real consideration and is anything but cheap! Granted prices for that should come down significantly in the future, but I'd wager it will still cost quite a bit and not just something on the higher end of trivial. It'll be decades before gas powered cars are really a thing of the past.
Gas is a depleting resource. 30 to 50 yrs max. Consumption has always remained high except the pandemic. Good luck

All about lifestyle. Does working from home, and/or barely driving an ICE vehicle, justify even upgrading to electric at this point?

Apparently they're quite popular.
Been trying to do deposit for 30 mins but by the time the MC Verification code comes though, it's already expired. I guess I'm not supposed to get one.
