news flash. NO ONE gets the advertised range on their tesla. I should know, I own one and I'm on the tesla forums.
Nope, Volvo' parent company geely has car over 1000km (700+ miles) for one charge

Now that GM and Ford are going to Tesla's NACS, I would never buy a car that uses CCS from this point going forward. GM and Ford's announcement to use the Tesla charging standard just hammered the last 2 nails in the CCS coffin.

If Volvo uses CCS, and doesn't immediately switch this model to NACS like Tesla, GM, and Ford. Then this car is a hard pass for North America.
As I understand it, cars that currently use CCS can use an adapter to use the NACS from what I've read, is this not true? It seemed like it was how Ford managed to allow their MachE charge even though it still has a CCS plug.

I think it really depends on the sole circumstances, most EV do fall short of their "claimed range" but there are so many factors that effect range it's hard to really compare even based under epa control conditions. My Fiat 500e EV which is my beater commuter is rated for 84 miles of range and I still continue to beat those ratings even now with 83k miles on it. When it was younger with only 21k miles when I got it, it wasn't very difficult to get 108 miles on a charge and my commute is mainly freeway. Now that it's older and well aged my max is about 91 miles still better than what it's rated for. My daily commute is 74 miles so it still has plenty of life we'll before I retire it.

Man I love when people don't read their own sources before posting them!

Quote from YOUR source :
The Zeekr 001 has only been tested on the Chinese CTLC cycle, which is unlikely to provide a real-world range

Sort of?

There's 2 versions of this:

Version 1: Tesla is officially opening a small % of existing US superchargers to "anyone" and that small % of locations will have at least 1 station with a special adapter attached to the station that will let you plug it into a CCS car.

That should work for everyone with CCS if they install the tesla app, and have a Tesla account set up for payment... but won't be available at most locations.

Version 2: Tesla is providing adapters to Ford and GM for their existing vehicle owners (unclear at this time if the owners will have to pay for them but I expect they will) that will let those cars, using their native charging/billing apps, and connect to a large % (but not all) of existing US superchargers "starting early next year"--- roughly 2/3rds of existing locations (and likely 100% of new to-be-built ones). And then new Ford/GM EVs from 2025 forward will have NACS ports by default and no adapter needed.

Unless Geely inks a deal with Tesla this vehicle would be limited to version 1 up there.

Actually, I quoted from wrong people, sorry for that , my apology!
It was intended to quote "Tesla will still win on the miles range. Until and unless someone figures out close to 330-350 miles range, tesla will be winner always "
So, I gave a link for another Geely EV with 1000km range...
Haha 😅

Tesla beats this car in every possible way, and is bigger, has the best audio system, best autopilot and has access to the Tesla supercharger network. And you don't need to wait 1 year+ to get delivery.

nope, I support my own bank account. I will buy the best product for the money that suits my needs regardless of where it's made.
this country and its corporations don't give a crap about its people or employees. all they care about is their profits and shareholders. the CEOs only care about quarterly earnings reports and they will lay off thousands if that means higher stock prices.
ahh, best you stick with China as they will take care of you. All corporations seek profitability and if not, they don't exist. Big business drives our economies while govt. produces nothing as it takes from all of us. Best you stay in Portland.

I mean, it's larger than the car this thread is about, but you never let facts get in your way!

I love these right wing talking points! LOVE EM!

though I mostly agree with the part about the US.gov producing nothing. but then again, they are beholden to big corp and lobbyist interests by promising votes in the next election. what a wonderful system we have!

Volvo just jumped aboard the Tesla charging train-

https://www.media.volvocars.com/g...states-can

Volvos from 2025 forward will come with the native Tesla charging port instead of the increasingly marginalized CCS1 port that'll require an adapter available next year to use.
