What you see on the screen is 1080p.

That is exactly what I meant.

If a projector is making 4k image using pixel shifting technology, are you going to call it 1080p projector?

That kind of comments just confuse a lot SD followers.

It is. All shifting 4k projectors are called 1080p by experts.

This is still not a native 1080p projector. It is using pixel shifting to achieve 1080p. The dlp chip itself does not have enough mirrors to to natively produce 1080p hence it has to shift the pixels to achieve that. A native 1080p dlp chip will have enough mirrors to produce and 1080p picture without software hacks.

thank you.. just placed the order for $284.05 .. I bought their WeMax Go which I received today and really impressed with the video quality against my expensive Nebula Capsule Max 200 lumen. It doesn't come with android TV.

Thanks. But from Wemax, Dice has a 350:1 contrast ratio, this Go advanced has 500:1. So, in theory, Go advanced should have a (marginally) better performance on color?

The contrast ratio of a projector is the difference between the brightest white and the darkest black.
Numbers can vary depends on how it was measured (dynamic/FOFO/ANSI contrast ratio etc.)

Which one do you think have deeper black and brighter white?

From what I'm gathering, it's a better deal at $200 to get the Wemax Dice since it's got better resolution and the color pops better. Unless you care more about portability, then get this for $300.

Native or not, both are *hardware* methods to display more pixels. Instead of chasing pixels endlessly, perhaps it makes sense to ask the business question of whether native pixels are worth the extra expense for your use case.

I kinda agree with you. Buying it or not largely depends on the use case. I personally do not know what diffenence it makes if a 1080 projector is true native or not. As long as what I actually see is 1080. Like I am buying a diamond glass cutter. As long as it cuts glass, I do not mind if the diamond at the tip is artificial or natural.
Question here is if Wemax priced this thing fairly or not.
