All of it is, to an extent, subjective ofc...YMMV, but... I am right š š (given that $ is not the issue, cause smart bikes are as expensive as what would cause 50 page comment threads of aneurysms about not making coffee or electric mopeds being cheaper etc)
oh, and fans are nearly a must, even in a well conditioned space once you start pushing...unless you like sweat puddles, like in spin classes š
I got the H3 sale last year and love it. Currently on it for my daily hour spin
Ending up returning it and bought directly from Saris which shipped in a properly sized box and lays flat.
I'm getting a crazy grinding noise from the old bike chain rubbing on the new cassette that i put on the kickr.
HG hub allows for 11 & 12 speed cassettes just fine, you just cannot do a 10T small cog: freehub diameter limits you to 11T. That is a good thing for a trainer because you don't need an expensive cassette that also wears faster...not need for the lightness or the extra range, or crisper shifting or any of that.
If you are a seasoned rider, there is little reason to even use your high end bike on this...why? To wear down the drivetrain? You can get a 9-10 speed trainer dedicated bike for less $ than a xD cassette + freewheel for the wahoo, save on chains and cassettes and lose nothing...
So true. Most Zwift/Wahoo X sessions can be done in ERG mode with no gear shifting needed anyway. The only time Wahoo X *requires* that I use manual gear shifting is during an FTP test.
So unless you're an elite athlete trying to get a pro-contract through Zwift Academy or compete in an UCI eSports Zwift event, a wheel-on trainer is acceptable.

Yes, stationary smart bikes are much sturdier, require less maintenance and look less ghetto if setup indoors...and you dont set and take them apart which can be a pita if you are training on your main ride...but are way more $$$...YMMV.

Anyone bored with exercise bikes or trainers definitely needs a set of rollers.
