No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).


Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.


Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.


Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

If you have AAA membership, you get the same offer as edu account, search Samsung on AAA then go in store from there. Same with AARP membership.

Great. Based on all the S22 vs S23 compare vids, the battery improvement stemming from the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 upgrade appears to be the largest and most noticeable improvement

That's my feeling too. I paid ~$130 last year to go from S21U to S22U. I'm looking at $275 + 15% back in cashback right now. Don't think it's worth it.

Agreed. I'm not one to always need the latest and greatest. I upgraded from the Note 10+ to the S22U for $300 at BB last fall. I will hold out for at least the S24U, I have been happy with the S22U.

I'm trying to get the 512gb S23U in Sky Blue, trade-in is an S22U. It shows $750 trade-in value + $300 instant discount. Comes down to $329; however, when I go to checkout it changes the $300 instant discount to $200, price comes up to $429 on the checkout screen. WTH...why doesn't the $329 final price doesn't "stick"? I'd appreciate any help
