No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Right now the website is messed up (as usual) shows lower price (sky blue 512 @355 before tax w/s22u trade in +edu ) and then bumps it up (449) in cart. Online support asks to pay what is on cart and apologizes for glitches. Totally expected BS from Samsung who can't work a product website and promotions(still) . No more wasting time from me. Bye Bye Samsung.

Lol or when Samsung decides to "update" but really.. It just slows down our phones and forces us to upgrade.

Is it worth trading in a ZFold4 for a S23 Ultra?
I'm thinking of doing the same. All depends on your needs. I'm tempted to trade in my Fold4 for the camera. Productivity, Fold4 for sure. Value wise, it's not worth the trade in. Function wise, that's all personal.

Yeah, and the 128gb was available briefly for even cheaper. The trade in deals were the SLICK part though--$375 for an s21 which is available on ebay/amazon for $200. Made the out of pocket for the s22 ultra ~300. $550 for a brand new s23 Ultra? Yes please Smilie

If I could get it easily under $700 I would probably do it but having to buy a used Note 20 gets me to a net $730 price.

I was seeing the correct pricing ($200 off app promo, $100 off sky blue) and then I signed up for education account and now the price is higher. What a joke. Any way to unlink the education "discount"?

Take your own risk, c stock == junk, you most likely need to argue with samsung cs to get trade-in approved.

Definitely not. I was rejected because my flip 4 had a literal microscopic piece missing on the front. It happened due to no fault of my own. Broke off two week after I got the phone. Warranty didn't want to fix it and was rejected for trade in

The only two aspects I consider about upgrading phone is battery and camera. Is s23u's battery and camera worth $300+ from the experience of s22u?

Any recommendations for screen protector and case?
No good screen protectors for the curved nonsense. You can get one online that requires glue or random liquids to be cured under light etc. I don't really recommend.
Your best bet us Costco'S screen protector which they customize in store and cut to size, if something happens you got back they put a new one on. Probably best choice.

For case, I always buy spigen. Literally I cannot use S22U therefore 23U without case. It's just impossible if you type a lot. Spigen won't be super protective so if you are clumsy and drop all the time, get something bulky, otherwise the ones I got from spiger are always sleek and helps make it grippy, protects corners against drops but edges won't help of drop face down to uneven surface. Good luck.

It would qualify as a cracked trade-in so you would get significantly less.
Best option is to replace the back glass yourself. They sell for $20 on Amazon, just need a heat gun and some patience. I've done it before and trade-in was accepted with no issues.

I was able to get the extra $200 off using my workplace discount (link redirect similar to CB sites) - unfortunately, looks like the Samsung app discount is simply applying that $200 off to everyone rather than to those who just have edu/work discount. If only there was a way to stack...

My Note 9 has been great, but battery life has been terrible for two years, even after replacing it last summer. Plus some burn-in that annoys me. But the kicker is that trade value is only going to get worse and it seems like the best opportunity. I'm considering this Tmobile deal stacked with the samsung deal tho where I wouldn't even have to trade in and still get 1000 off either way.

the $200 discount is fake, the price on amazon now is $999 already.
