No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

Can a S22 ultra locked with Tmobile be used as a trade in for this offer?
You can, lock status doesn't matter for trade in.

Anyone traded one in with small hairline crack. The crack could be in the screen saver but don't want to remove it to find out.

Right. I am considering the unlocked one too. Totally agree with you about the plan. Based on the 4 phones on our plan right now it would cose like $140.00+ more per month to upgrade to that plan. Not goint to happen.

Ridiculous move by T-Mobile.
Does Samsung Pay work on Unlocked phones? Does WiFi-Calling? It's been a while since I looked for a new phone.. still rocking a Note 9. But back around 2018/2019 I recall many folks saying the unlocked phones had some limitations. True? Not true?

I have been getting fed up with the weird resolution and weight of my ZFold3 and have been considering moving to a straight S23+. Battery life is important to me, but I don't do anything particularly crazy using my phone. I take some pictures, but I am usually not the main photographer (rest of the family who uses iPhones are). Is it worth jumping onto this?

Here I am. Purchased this device 25/26 days ago at $449 after trade-in. Lost $200. Contacted samsung for price adjustment if possible. But they said NO. I should have waited!
Yeah , once you are outside their return window , they dont GAF - you have to be in their return window or before it ships

Worth the upgrade just for new better battery. S22 ultra almost 2 years old. Also $250 and if upgrading for s24 ultra trade in for S23 ultra will be better than S22. Win-Win

They are also offering $50 buck credit through PP
How?

I know some people had 5%. I only saw 5% cash backwith paypal not a pay with paypal offer that you could save as others have got

EDIT: I misunderstood, thought you were abbreviating Paypal, but now rereading did you mean EPP?

Would love to trade-in my S21 Ultra but I'm with T-Mobile and unless you upgrade to their way over-priced Go Plus plan they basically give you basically have to pay full price.
Just buy the unlocked version.

False. Unlocked is fine for all services. However , unlocked and rooted are two completely different things - if a phone is rooted , Samsung Pay might not work. I don't think Secure Folder works either on rooted phones or phones with some bootloader/knox flag tripped by rooting. But yeah, most people are not rooting their Samsung phones in the US these days so you dont have to worry about that, hence XDA forums have become extremly less popular compared to 5-10 years ago

Thanks. I am risk averse. What about international versions of phones, guessing those are risky to trade in too?
