No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).

Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.

Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.

Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

I had two major problems with my S22 Ultra. Two months after getting the phone (awesome trade-in deal at Best Buy last fall), it started failing to charge at Super Fast Charge 2.0 speeds, despite the fact that it showed SFC2.0 on the screen, it only charged at 10W as measured by a kill-a-watt device. This was extremely difficult to have Samsung accept that there was a problem...but after two trips to a Samsung store they finally agreed to change the motherboard. It worked as it should for no more than a week (using a Samsung 45w charger). So they decided to replace the unit. The "new" one had terrible signal issues, the thing would lose cell signal at least half of the time. Countless times when out and about, I couldn't even make a phone call. Horrible! Tired of all the bs, I almost traded in for a Pixel but I decided to go back yet again to the store in LA and have them try to fix the issue. They ended up replacing the antenna module, so I finally had a phone that didn't charge slow and could make phone calls. Of the first 60 days with the S22U, I didn't have the phone with me for more than 3 weeks. And since I had traded in my S20FE, I was stuck with my old, cracked screen S8. That entire ordeal was insanely frustrating but I'm glad I didn't give up on it, just wish the battery would hold better and it would get less hot, which is why I'm patiently waiting for a nice trade-in deal. I'm willing to pay either $200 for a 256gb (simply to keep up the value for an S24), or $330 for a 512gb (in this case I'd settle until the S25).

Sorry if this has already been answered, but is there anyway to stack the EDU discount with the free storage upgrade for the Green S23 Ultra?

I'm in need to upgrade my Galaxy Note 10+, but would really like to get the price down on the S23 Ultra a bit more. My best case scenario without stacking discounts is $395 off from what I have found. The Samsung website has been janky lately. On the order page it'll show one price and then at checkout, it'll remove a discount and show a higher price.

I have this all the time. You have to take a toothpick and rub the dirt off the contacts. It gets annoying because after a while it'll complain there's debris or water in the port. It just happened to me today actually. Everytime I clean the contacts I get super fast charging back again.

I also got in on the BB deal but went with the Plus because I like the smaller size. I havent noticed any issues but then again, I am not really paying attnetion to it. The thing that sucks about the Plus is the trade in value, especially against another Plus. If you trade in an s22U for a s23 Plus instead of an s23 Ultra you get a $150 less so they end up being almost the same price but the Ultra will hold more value. So I am thinking of getting an Ultra used to trade in but not sure if I should just wait, I think there are better deals in the late fall

Samsung changed the charging port before they changed the motherboard. Then, it happened again. We figure that something on the phones body was shorting and triggering some kind of "fuse" that would limit the max charge speed to 10w.

Anybody found s23u has inferior picture quality than s22u? I found s23u pictures are more washed out. s22u has brighter pictures. I don't care about the resolution. seriously considering keeping my s22u, and returning s23u..
Try switching to 3:4 50 MP mode from top nav bar in camera app and see if it gives better picture to you.

I don't get how this is a "deal" at all, and especially not a slick deal.

You're giving them a phone to receive a discount, and not only that but it's not very good trade in values. I could sell my phone 3rd party and receive more money.
There is no actual sale going on here or deal, its just a normal trade in offer. and the educational discount is something that most places do, and a lot of people are not eligible for.

But 13PM has better endurance...and maybe performance. I have an S22U but might try the 15/16PM instead. Sitting on 1k in apple gift cards from past birthdays.
I'm still waiting for the 15PM for a better decision.

Quick question for the folks here that have upgraded to the 8gb RAM/ 256gb S23 Ultra... how's the RAM holding up for you so far? I know the S22 Ultra 8gb/ 128gb version got a lot of flak because the RAM wasn't good enough for last year's inefficient snapdragon processor so I'm trying to figure out if the same holds true for the more efficient S23 Ultra or not.

I currently have the 12gb RAM/ 256gb S22 Ultra and am looking to trade in for the S23 Ultra strictly for battery life and a cooler phone experience overall since my S22U easily gets uncomfortably warm outside here in the Vegas heat. I don't really care for the bigger 512gb drive since 256gb is more than enough for my needs.

Thanks!

I semi agree with you. You don't need the edu discount if you order in the app. Also edu and epp discounts are plentiful and pretty easy to get. Majority of people have access to it. Also, the trade in values towards the s23u are much better than being offered elsewhere or even towards an s23+ ,. With that said I agree people get blinded by the deal and think they are getting an s23u for $250 when they are really getting the s23u for $250 plus the street value of the phone they are giving up
