I just bought this TV. The picture quality is like that of a Sony Bravia. I just came from a Sony Bravia 900f and TCL'S subsidiary CSOT makes the Bravia panels. TCL also has a very similar color science. This is the cheapest you will ever find a 120hz gaming TV. It has VRR, ALLM and Dynamic Tone Mapping. It includes Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It has over 200 dimming zones.

Any chance the price for 55" will drop to $500 by BF?...
If the tv is well-received and reviewed, it probably won't unless a new competitor appears on the horizon. In tv terms, BF is a long ways away...

Looking for a 75. Can anyone explain if I should consider this or the Hisense U8H? I'll be using the tv in a play room. Mostly PS5, tv and movies.

I think they're both great TVs from what I've looked at and from different sites. I think you should go to the q7, save yourself the $200 and then just apply that to a warranty

Just picked up the Q7 55" good looking tv but keeps resetting randomly. Working with tech support for a fix but curious to hear if anyone had a similar issue with this set?

Have had multiple TCL TVs before with no issues.

What do you mean by that? Turning off or losing settings?

Yeah it will turn off and turn back on pretty randomly after a few minutes. I probably should have wrote power cycle instead of reset. Happens using an app, using an HDMI input, even did it while just browsing through the Home Screen.

I have not really had a chance to adjust settings as it has not stayed on for longer than a few minutes before power cycling. Haha

Like I said I have had great luck with TCL. Might just be an isolated issue with the one I picked up.

Did rings.com review TCL - 65" Class Q7 Q-Class tv? Torn whether I should get this or wait for a something else closer to Black Friday.
Why not wait for this on Black Friday? Better yet wait for the qm8 on Black Friday.

Should I wait until July 4th to see if there are better deals or is it a myth that holidays provide the best deals?
The best deals will be Black Friday and Super Bowl

Don't know why they keep changing their naming conventions.

So QM8 is like 8 series plus 120 Hz
and Q7 if like 6 series but without miniLED but with 120 Hz.

???

Why TCL. Why.
Because that's how they con unknowing folks into thinking they're getting a higher tier product. Every tv maker does this. There are lots of dumb dumbs who rely on their cousins sister brother who said to get the tcl 7 because it was good last year.

I don't know. I mean on 55-65 cheap sets yes...some manufactures produce specific black friday models, but from what I have seen over the years April-June is best time to buy. I mean just look at some of the Woot deals (Sony X90 85 for example). Usually last years models get clearenced right about now.

How does this compare against Samsung QN85B( the neo QLED TV ) ..I got that from Sam's club at $710 .. which was a clearance price ..
Quote from youra6 :
Samsung will have better panel QC such as better uniformity and less DSE but TCL seems to be improving with each iteration. The gap is smaller than it ever has been and I wont be surprised if TCL surpasses Samsung in a couple of years. The QM8 is already posed to be one of the best LED panels in it's class. Its no longer just the "value" pick. I remember that was the case years ago when I bought the P607.
Samsung QN85B uses a BOE panel (panel version BA01) according to https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...t-61583382

The Hisense A6H most likely uses BOE panels too. Also the Hisense A6H has better panel uniformity and less DSE than the Samsung QN85A according to https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...1552/31247

Samsung used to have better panels when they sourced their panels from Samsung Display. But ever since Samsung Display pretty much stopped LCD panel manufacturing in 2020, paying more for a Samsung does not mean you will get a better uniform panel.

TCL help was responsive but no fix so I took your advice and just returned it. Hope others have better luck than I did. Decided to go with an LG B2 as BJs had a decent deal with 5 years of coverage.

Yes but paying for Samsung is guaranteed you get better parts on say boards/power supply etc. Yes you can say "well a board is a board" but I have taken apart both and when it comes to QC Samsung is just better.
