I have the Oklahoma joe and it is a fantastic smoker, it is very well built and pretty heavy. I would say it's not that hard to maintain temperatures but u will have to watch it more often then the Wi-Fi digital smokers. I'm sure u could buy a separate blu tooth digital type thermometer and link to your phone that would warn u when your heat is getting to high or low. The only thing I wish the Oklahoma joe had was a door to add more charcoal or wood, so make sure u put enough in before use or u will have to pull your food off and take grate out to add more.

I purchased the larger charcoal basket made for the pro series. You've gotta flip the deflector plate upside down but it fits. I've done a 30 hour total cook with a little fuel left.

I bought this smoker off a slick deal 2 or 3 years ago and it's fantastic. Would highly recommend. Agree that a door to ad more charcoal would be nice, but would compromise the insulation a bit (insulation is really good as is) with the normal charcoal basket my coals have lasted up to 19 hours on one basket. To be fair I've also had a couple smokes last 12-14 hrs, just a matter of air flow management and ambient temperature. Adding more coals is a little hassle but not too bad

Bronco is better for temp control. it has much thicker gauge steel.


WSM metal is quite thin. The only benefit is you can take it apart and transport it easier.


Bronco is way better


I have both (WSM 22 and bronco pro)
