This unit doesn't have the milk reservoir, so it's easier cleanup. The LatteGo has a milk container that is dishwasher safe. On my LatteGo I only use the milk reservoir a few times a year when we have company over. It's all americanos and espresso shots for my wife and I.
The unit for sale is an absolute strong recommendation at this price if you're looking for an easy to use super automatic and have minimal use case for milk based beverages. Dump decent beans and water in, plug it in, and you get solid coffee.
If I pore through images and product descriptions on various sites, I think the main differences between the three are:
-all three are AquaClean compatible, but only the 2200 actually includes the AquaClean filter. The 800 and 1200 don't show it installed in the water tank in the 3/4 view, and some sites say it is sold separately (about $30 on Amazon).
-the 800 has more black trim than chrome trim, namely the drip tray grille and around where the coffee comes out. The 2200 also has additional chrome bezel around the touch display. I suspect the materials might be more plasticky than metal-ly for the black trim vs chrome bits...
I suspect the innards, esp the brew group, ceramic grinder, etc, are essentially the same from the 800 all the way up to the 5400, a lot of the internal replacement parts are the same across the lineup. Mainly a matter of drink selection options and customization of settings....

Found internal screw is missing attaching grinder to the chassis.
Sensor adjustment did not help, still shows up low water level and requiring contaner to be pushed in harder. Sensor is against back of water container, 1/4 of height, can be activated by the finger. But does not detect water reliably, possibly because of water being after RO filter.
On this model, the clear side of the water tank is directly the on the side of the unit itself, so you can drill a hole right through there, but it will stick out visibly. Or my older Saeco had a sidewall blocking the tank, but the front side of the tank was hidden but snapped into a black trim piece that faces the front of the unit with small space gap that 1/4 tubing can fit. Seems same for this one's water tank - you can drill the hole for the float through the front of the tank, hiding the tubing behind the black front trim, and down and under to the back of the unit. When plumbed, you only need the tank to hold about 1-2 cups worth of water, as it will auto-fill within seconds any time you brew a cup.
EDIT: Meant to also comment you can order a spare water tank for <$20 from Philips parts site, just in case you screw up drilling the hole for plumbing the water line...

For any home machine whether it's drip, espresso, etc the beans will make the biggest difference. Find a bean than you like, preferably from a local roaster
I prefer Nespresso honestly
But if one were to use popular internet search engine
The ground coffee inside the espresso capsule weighs 5.26 grams.
The whole lungo capsule weighs 7.40 grams.
The ground coffee inside the lungo capsule weighs 6.51 grams.

After buying three $100 espresso machines that lasted just long enough for the 1yr warranty (+1yr Visa warranty extension) to expire... (2.5yrs on the last one.)
I'm ready to take my chances on this $350 unit with a 2yr warranty (+1 Visa), and Costco support.
P.S. Our coffee mill failed recently, so being able to replace both units with a single point of failure seems like a good thing... /s
