Standard 20x20 3-speed box fan that has build-in filter cage from QVC for $39.94 + S/H https://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.H232553.html New members can have the price further reduced with coupon code: SURPRISE or QVCNEW20 (add something else to increase order amount over $40)

This air purifier uses standard 1" filter.

Immunizing for make-shift duct tape comments as the fans with Weather-Shield motor is typically more expensive and this is a factory solution.

Optional:

Home Depot - Honeywell 20 x 20 x 1 Superior Allergen Pleated MERV 11 - FPR 9 Air Filter (12-pack) for $59.97 FS

The problem with box fan filter is it's not very efficient, it uses more power, generates alot more noise, and takes much longer to cycle out the pm2.5.

They're great for when you want to bring outside air in, slap a filter on there, gets rid of most pollen.

But if people are dealing with wildfire smoke, a smaller hepa unit actually works better and is more quiet.

You have to get at least Merv13, and the Rosenthal box recommends 2 inch filters instead of 1 inch.

These pair well with basic FPR filters from Home Depot that can be purchased when on sale for just a couple of bucks each.

There's not too much airflow, and it is pretty loud so probably not ideal for a bedroom. However, after a few months of running on the lowest speed, the filter seems to pick up quite a bit of dander and dust.

For the price of filters, it was worth it for me running it 24/7 in the living room.
