although same price and more pieces, of those 230 pieces are 44 hex keys and 66 specialty bits and 16 bit sockets filler pieces.

True but this 160-pcs is missing hex sockets and mini wrenches which are essential in European cars. Also this one is made in China vs 230-pcs is made in Taiwan, I would always go for the Taiwan made tools personally.
