Just to let people know. These batteries are fatter than normal batteries. I bought these without realizing since I didn't open them right away and couldn't return.

I noticed all my Amazon batteries get hotter than my Eneloops while charging. Also, many recent reviews are "not great".

However, worth noting these are going for less than $1/per whereas Eneloops recently hit $3+/per. I put Amazon batteries in devices I care less about and save the Eneloops for nicer gear.

They are in any case better than using Alkalines -- I have yet to have a NiMH leak and destroy a device.

I remember a 16 pack being ~$10 when they were probably clearancing out a packaging change. It went back up to full price right after I caught one after it was marked dead. Not sure if that's what people are thinking about or there was a deal I missed.

Late but I've bought that cheap starter pack and I fully charged the AA's and for some reason they die faster in my Xbox controller than normal batteries.

That was end of last year. That's around when they had some crazy sales from Amazon fresh as well.

My guess is those sales were related to economic conditions and that we won't see anything similar for at least a year or few.

3camels will miss prices at times. I dunno if it's because of technical issues, or because Amazon isn't ok with them posting certain sales.

I believe 3-C doesn't update live, it only checks on a rather lagging schedule. It seems to be getting worse, because many items I check these days are far out of date and have the wrong buy boxes listed. Only paying users get the button to try to force it to update, which is kind of stupid, as being more accurate only benefits them and makes their service more enticing for people to pay for it. 'Out of date but still useful' isn't exactly a selling point.
