I'm considering this but BB also dropped the price on the G14 with the 4060 in it. I have a few hundred dollars in accumulated gift cards to use so I'm wondering if this is a better deal under $1000 or the G14 with the newer GPU. Anybody have any experience with either or both of these machines?

Looking to play D4 but will also need this to for light work (webcam necessary).

Been this price for at least a week just as a point of reference (been considering it).

Have the G14 3060 right now and it handles D4 without a problem so either will run it with ample frames, but the G14 gets stupid hot. The WASD area is fine but the rest of the chassis is early 2000s laptop scalding hot, was an unpleasant surprise first time I gamed on it for half an hour. I don't know if the G15/M16 chassis is any better or not, I would hope they would be at least a bit better with a bit less density and more room for cooling but I can't say. 14" is also a tad small for D4 at lap distance IMO, but I'm pushing 40 and my desktop display is 42" so I might be aging and conditioned YMMV.

Just a FYI That Asus is under fire for their crappy customer services via Gamer Nexus, so beware

If you're considering this, also take a look at the M16 (3060) that tends to be the same price when on sale. Best Buy seems to go back and forth between the two pretty often. Both have 3060s, but the M16 has the 500 Nit FHD 16" display instead of the 15.6" 300 Nit QHD one that this has. You'll be playing the ASUS quality control lottery either way.

Just now? They've had terrible CS for years. The only difference is their gaming stuff used to just never really break, especially the ROG stuff, but if you did need warranty it was rough. I think their whole mobo issue is what brought it all to light.
